I usually LOVE coming here and this is not a reflection of their food but of their customer service. I’m inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt because I did walk in there about 15 minutes before they closed, which I didn’t know until I got there and saw their hours. However, I went in and before I started ordering anything I specifically asked if I could still place an order, I truly was trying to be respectful of their time and if they had told me no I would’ve said thank you and walked out.
That was not the case as the girl working the counter stated yes but that she wasn’t cooking anything else. I stated I wanted to place an order for the 21 pc dinner mix. She proceeded to tell me they only had 18 pieces left, I was completely fine with that. She proceed to tell me, in what I believe was a very rude attitude that this wouldn’t be coming with the 10 or so biscuits it’s supposed to come with. I asked her if I could replace that with a side, she gave me a look and said no. I asked her if the biscuits would be deducted from the total price, she again in an unpleasant demeanor said no. I asked why that wouldn’t be the case being that the biscuits are included in the price, I don’t believe that’s fair. She said something along the lines of “well I’m telling you beforehand.” Again, in a very rude demeanor. There were two other employees standing around just staring which seemed weird to me. I just said thank you and walked out.
It’s not that I didn’t have the money bc obviously if I’m going somewhere to eat I have the funds for it. My issue is 1) don’t be rude bc I asked if I could place an order before even trying to order anything and 2) it makes no sense for the price to remain the same even though you’re not getting all of the items that are advertised. Their customer service was mediocre at best and I believe the situation could’ve been handled in a more professional manner. I do not recommend this place...
Read moreTemperature is set on 77 degrees F and it was way too hot inside to eat . That’s a minor concern compared to the customer service. Got to the table and realized my drink was the incorrect tea . I had the girl come to my table to fix it and she barely put in any ice at all . I then told her we didn’t have any ketchup at our table and we would like one . She then told us we could grab one off one of the other tables!!! (Why not provide service and grab it for your customers??) Adding to that when we walked in there were tons of empty tables that were filthy , sticky , and had crumbs . This was just before 7pm . So I guess they’re way too busy to send someone out to clean their tables.
And when the girl did come out to clean their tables , she was wiping the crumbs into the floor and off on to the seats . So you had seats full of crumbs .
They need to get it together to continue being a good local staple .
And for the love of God invest in some better quality spoons and forks . As much business as you get , you can afford a little more . Quit...
Read moreNow you might feel differently, but I PREFER a local spot with really good food over a national restaurant chain ANY day . . . and TWICE on Sundays. Take me literally today . . . it IS Sunday and I was craving a piece of friend chicken moments ago. So I looked up and saw the sign, "Hathaway's Chicken & Biscuits" and my reptile brain took over. It was a meteorite, you see, that wiped out the dinosaurs . . . but their preternatural ability to suss out a tasty 2-piece and a biscuit still lives within us -- if we will but listen closely. Listen closely HERE and the locals will tell you how moIst and tender is the chicken. How flakey the biscuits are and precisely how savory the sides. Watch as they load up on take out plates INCLUDING gallons of the excellent iced tea and lemonade. If you cannot quite hear your own inner dinosaur (aka chicken-eating chicken), take a listen to mine here:
"Bah-gawk!"
That's Jurassic/Chicken for, "Nomnonnom! Eat...
