Watched A Minecraft movie, and it sucked. That wasn't the issue though. The prices were good, but you pay for what you get. The audio was very poor, particularly dialogue. I could barely understand anything said in the movie, except for lines I was already familiar with from the trailers. There also seemed to be issues with the balancing between the speakers. The speakers on the sides of the theater seemed to play sounds from offscreen (for example during the C H I C K E N J O C K E Y scene the baby zombie's crying played on the front speakers while it was on screen, and on the side speakers when it was offscreen). That itself wasn't the issue, but how disconnected that audio felt from the rest of the audio. In the scene I gave as an example, I thought that there was a random child crying in the back of the theater rather than being immersed in the glories of C H I C K E N J O C K E Y. I don't necessarily know how this issue might be alleviated, since I don't work in movie theaters. One suggestion I would make (if possible) would be playing the background music from the side speakers as well. This would probably improve immersion. I would also suggest getting improved speakers for the front, due to how hard it was to hear the dialogue
Holy crap that was a lot. I should mention that there weren't any noisy people in the audience of the movie, so that wasn't the issue with understanding the dialogue. Anyway, the reason this isn't a 1 star review is the aesthetics of the theater. It looks very nice, very old-timey. Apparently their next renovation intends to add new bathrooms and a new lobby, which will probably improve this aspect. The audio is definitely the thing that needs fixed the most though.
Edit: something I should mention in case someone else sees this review: I didn't actually tell any staff that there were audio issues. I'm not sure if they could have fixed it, but I'm not...
Read moreWant to start with YOU ARE BEING RECORDED THROUGH THE WHOLE MOVIE SO IF YOU DIDNT KNOW YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO. I have been to alot of theaters and they record you when you walk in and at ticket and food stand but not during the movie and sit and watch you during the movie. I went here with my family and set separate from my kids who are 12. They acted up a little so instead of saying something to the parents they posted pics of my kids on Facebook without any cuncent. I guess my kids put there feet up and got into trouble for it that's fine but Noone said anything to me about it and there where only asked 2 times. They sit and watch you on the cameras witch is weird and as far as I know it is not posted that you are being recored while watching the movie. I don't understand why a professional business would react the way they did over one bad review but was childish and most...
