An Extra Scoop — Restaurant in Monticello

I want to start by saying the ice cream is delicious. BUT the two teenage kids running the store by themselves were absolutely clueless. They didn’t know what toppings or sauces/syrups they offered or where to find them & when they found them, they didn’t know how to prepare them & serve them.

example:

#1: I asked for hot fudge. the kid disappeared into the back to look for it. Came back with a double scoop cup full of (not hot) hot fudge & sent me home with it to warm up at home & add to my ice cream myself. which is totally fine with me. Now i have a lot of awesome hot fudge… but that’s not exactly good for business. I am also realizing just now I was never charged for even 1 serving of hot fudge… let alone an entire 2 scoop cup of hot fudge.

#2: my dad asked for chocolate syrup. they looked but couldn’t find any.

those poor kids definitely were struggling & at the very least needed more training… if not a manager on premises during the entire shift so that if they had questions...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We walked in and the place was empty, so we got fast and friendly service right away! The prices were very reasonable, and the quality was great. We also enjoyed some Triple XXX root beer with our treats.

What stood out was the calm and quiet atmosphere — the music wasn’t loud, which made it a really nice spot to sit and enjoy ice cream with family. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed and affordable place...

It's a really great spot overall, but it's a hidden gem there's not a big sign up top so out of towners hardly know it's there I've been in the area about 4 years and only noticed it about a year ago and only went recently. The ice cream is the freshest you can get at a price that caused me to quit keeping any ice cream at home I didn't buy there by the pint. Different flavors nearly every week that are too...
