Been coming to Monticello IN for quite a few years now, and just never had the urge to stop here. Reviews had admittedly kept me away. This trip we decided that it was time to make our own decision. We arrived around 2:15, and were the only ones there for about 15 minutes, but things slowly started to pick up after that. Hubby had coffee and I went with my Arnold Palmer. After which, I was informed was made with pink lemonade. No problem. Started with upgrade sides of soup. Tuesday is cream of potato and chicken dumpling. We doubled teamed and got one of each. The potato was cool, with huge chunks of warm potatoes in a flavorless paste. The chicken was tasty, delicious with homemade dumplings that were made old-school, pushed through a colander to form the dumplings. Oh yeah. 😇 I went with a gyro wrap (with fries - I thought it came with them), and hubby got chicken stir fry (his old stand by). Food came timely, but no fries. When I asked, I was informed that they didn't come with them. The waitress was quick to want to remedy the situation. She was going to get me fries, and she wasn't even going to charge me for them. Then I thought about onion rings, and she said they're both great. So I opted for onion rings. Lickety split they were out, and piping hot and yummy! Lo and behold they weren't on my bill. Hubby's stir fry was an amazing meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the snap peas were fresh and crisp. The sauce was delicious, and not over powering. Overall, a wonderful experience here. I paid for those onion rings after all that. 😀 I wanted her to know that her initiative and extraordinary efforts on my behalf were...
Read moreWe spent the weekend in Monticello so we could visit Indiana Beach. The first night we got into town we wanted to be able to sit down and enjoy a nice meal and relax. I happened to find Harvest Time using Google and so off we went. When we got there, it was packed! Fortunately though, we didn't have to wait to sit down as they sat us immediately. It did take our server a little while to get to us, but being a former server myself, I completely understood why. She was so busy, but honestly gave really good service. She was very pleasant and super nice. Our food came out hot and fresh, everything was absolutely delicious (I had the Taco Wrap 🤤) it was so good in fact, that we decided to come back for breakfast the next morning. We had a similar experience as the first time, food was hot and fresh, the portions are big, and everything tasted so good! Thanks Harvest Time! You made our mini vacation dinning experience absolutely amazing! I know we'll be back to visit Indiana Beach, so I know this will be our spot to go for good food while...
Read moreWe've been here before but it's been awhile; the last time we visited, if I recall correctly, we enjoyed our meal. Our recent stop in was a continuation of the trend. We ordered the Wednesday special of a grilled chicken sandwich with mozz, fries and a cup of soup. I chose chicken noodle and my wife chose broccoli/cheese. My wife wasn't as thrilled with hers as I was mine. It was after 8pm when we arrived and the soup had likely been in the pot most of the day; any soup with cheese doesn't hold up well. The chicken noodle soup came through like a champ. Delicious, flavorful, and not overseasoned. The clean flavor of the broth came through beautifully and the noodles were so soft and tender. The sandwiches was so good as well; not overcooked and juicy. We asked for lettuce/tomato and were happily given. The fries had a nice coating on them and were delicious. The waitress was very nice and attentive, and took great care of us. Yep, I recommend the place...
