I love jcpennnys. But my most recent experience wasn't the best. A lady left a jacket in the fitting room I walked in, so I took the jacket which contained keys and a card of some sort (I didn't open it, I just felt it inside the pocket) to the cashier and told her it was hanging in the fitting room. While I ran this jacket out, I left 2 boxes of shoes I was going to purchase and a child's dress suit on a chair in the fitting room area. My daughter and I were only trying on 2 dresses, so I didn't think I needed to take items I wasn't trying on into the fitting room with us. While returning the jacket, the 2 boxes of shoes, child's tux, and my daughters outside jacket that she was wearing were picked up and taken to an unknown location. Then, when I asked about the items that were picked up, I was informed that with the store closing in 10 mins, we weren't able to find them at that time. I needed the shoes and tux for an Easter event and it was a last minute shopping trip. I live an hour away and didn't have time to run back for the shoes or personal items we came with. I was in a rush, wanted to get some long sleeves for the cold weather and found a cheap good brand here. Mia, checked me out at the register. Told me there were rewards I could sign up for to get discounts on further purchases. I'll admit sometimes I can be slow and unable to pick up on some things right away. So I said yes, thinking it might be something like an email subscription.. After entering my social, I realized that I may be signing up for a credit card. I do not have many credit cards and forgot what the process was like when signing up for one. Before submitting my info, I asked Mia if this was a credit card I was signing up for. She made no mention of a credit card before prior to this. She said yes it was after I asked about it. I then told her I wasn't interested in the credit card. Before my info was submitted, I asked her to cancel. She told me it was too late, reached over, and she pressed the submit button on the keypad. I shop at this store once every fews years. Read moreI would give a lower than 1 rating if I could. We purchased rings on June 14, 2024. We received a call the next day that the men's wedding band could not be sized and they could not get the size we needed. Not a big deal. Our money was refunded and we purchased one elsewhere. On July 3, 2024 I called the store because they said between 2 and 6 weeks. I spoke to the manager on duty. She said my rings were there to be picked up. I told her I would be coming in. We live 45 miles away. We arrived to find out that the rings could not be sized and would have to be ordered. I explained to the girl that I would not order from them and wanted a refund. The girl that waited on us was so kind and kept apologizing for something that she didn't do. She had to get a manager to approve the refund. The Manager was less than helpful. She had a I Don't Care attitude. I had spoken to HER on the phone and I asked her why she didn't just tell us over the phone that the ring was not sized. She actually rolled her eyes at me.
