Unprofessional, unsafe practices. I would go to University Radiology or NJ Imaging Network instead. I've been to both and have not had such an unpleasant experience.
I emailed the practice manager over a week ago with my concerns and received no reply. That's unacceptable.
Here is my story:
I was wearing scrubs at the time with METAL ZIPPERS very close to the area I was being imaged for an MRI. She first tried to tell me that my zipper were not plastic, which is grossly inaccurate and then proceeded to have me sit in the MRI machine. I expressed multiple times that I was concerned that my METAL ZIPPERS interfering with my MRI and potentially becoming an issue during the testing. She said it wouldn't affect "the picture". I asked her specifically what she meant by "the picture" and she condescendingly said "the thing you are doing today". I work regularly with imaging staff in my profession and I have NEVER heard of MRI test results being referred to as "pictures". Imaging/images would be the proper terminology and I feel that as a patient I have every right to ask qualifying questions to understand my care. This was already the start of an unpleasant encounter. Despite her telling me that my METAL ZIPPERS were "fine", I personally did not feel comfortable proceeding with the test.
I asked if it was possible for me to remove my scrubs and she proceeded to roll her eyes and escorted me back to the area where the cubby was. I tried to ask if I could take my scrub pants off as I had a base layer underneath with no metal or any obstructions. Before I could even get this out, she immediately thrusts a gown in my hand and told me to go change. I had to tell her specifically that if she allowed me to finish my question, she would have found out that I had a base layer underneath. The lack of patience on her end was frustrating to deal with.
We were finally able to do the test but that is not where the unpleasant experience ends. At some point, I begin coughing lightly and she rudely tells me to "stop moving" because "it is ruining the image". If she had any clinical sense, she would recognize that I was coughing and not uncooperative. I felt a lack of compassion on her end; I was not offered a break, any water, or even asked...
Read moreI had a breast biopsy done there today (and of course I was super scared, worry, and anxious⌠tears even in my eyes a lot of the time because itâs a scary thing to go thru). But from the first staff member I spoke with at the desk, all the nurses/techs, well everyone there, and of course the doctor who did the biopsy ( I wish I could remember all their names because they were all amazing, kind, and supported me knowing how scared and anxious i was) were amazing. They all including the doctor answered any and all questions I had before/after the procedure and tried to help relax my mind and comfort me. Which they all did very well. I canât say enough good things about all of the staff there today or thank them enough for their kindness and support. Itâs a scary thing and I was afraid of the pain and the whole thing but it was not bad at all⌠a lot to do with everyone there today. So thank you again to everyone there. I definitely recommend them for their services. And anyone out there going thru something scary with their health just be strong and know you are not alone. So much more I want to say but this is already a very long review. Lastly thanks to everyone who is/are supporting me, my family and loved ones I couldnât get or go thru this without all of you and lastly thank god for getting...
Read moreThey offered free testing for my job. When I got there 2 papers they made me sign stated I was responsible for any bill that my insurance did not cover. I questioned the receptionist that all the testing was supposed to be free. She said it is, so then why are you making me sign 2 paper stating I'm responsible and would only give me a verbal that it is free. I wanted to speak to a supervisor but they wouldn't be in for another 2 hours and they wouldn't start the testing until I signed the paperwork. I had my sister and mother with me and they heard the conversation. I was not happy about this after taking the day off work and driving one and half hours to get there. Now I have to have a stress test and they made me stressed out. Now let's see if I will be charged for anything. I do have to give the a good review on the actual test. The phlebotomist was great at her job. Had no issues with any of the test or the staff performance, they were all nice. The starts given will depend on weather they end up charging me for any of the test. I'm giving them the benefit that what the presenter that came to my job, the person I spoke with on the phone twice to confirm it was free and the reception. They need to change...
