As part of the museum across the street this statue is a tribute to our nation’s first President. General George Washington who so skillfully served and guided our rag tag colonists to a great victory over the British. Our freedoms we enjoy today would never be in existence if not for the sacrifices of the men and women of that day. Washington was very skilled in battle and out thinking the British army. He deserves and has earned much respect even though he never wanted it.
