We love Aldi's bc super clean super quality store brands AND the name brands are sometimes half the cost of same item at other grocery stores. Also huge pizzas for 5$ and multiple great deals weekly... However having to bring your own bags or pay for bags for groceries we bought at the store is kind of ridiculous... ALSO after checking out and spending an extra 1$ for bags a glass container of pasta sauce fell and shattered on the floor. Not only did the cashier not offer to help clean it up or call someone to help, she blatantly looked at us with a scornful look. There were paper towels under her register but she didn't even offer us them to clean with. So I went to restroom and got toliet paper to clean up the sauce and glass on the floor. So I cleaned it up bc it was my accident. However as I am personally named on Yelp n Trip Advisor for my top notch customer service skills I was quite disappointed that the cashier apparently missed that day of training at orientation. I'm not saying clean my mess, but just a little compassion and maybe giving me a couple paper towels that were literally right next to her would have helped immensely. Worst part was not one Aldi's employee offered to help. Cheap groceries should not be an excuse to not help a...
Read moreUsually my only complaint with this store is the produce. That didn't change with today's visit. Couldn't buy romaine lettuce because they were literally red, as in rotting. Celery, too, seemed to have mold spots on it. Yuck.
But the worst part of the experience was at the checkout, where the cashier lived down to all those snarky videos about Aldi cashiers literally throwing your groceries into the cart.
The cashier, Stephanie, did it to me, ruining frozen ice cream cones and Ritz style crackers. Then, she did it to the woman behind us as we were packing our items into bags. That's when I told her most customers actually want their products in one piece.
She implied she wants to keep her job, meaning that's how they're trained to handle your goods and mine.
I guess it's time to switch to Harris Teeter unless they start getting their stuff...
Read moreGood prices and clean store. Always out of items and won't restock for a week or longer and for basic things. No mozzarella cheese in the entire store? How? Juice is rarely restocked. Also the new layout is just super confusing and makes no logical sense. Why are chips and paper towels on same row? Why is open produce at the very front of the store by the constant opening doors? The new layout is atrocious. It also opens too late and closes too early to rely on for food. You open after breakfast and close before or right around dinner time. Also you close at 8 but they shut the store down around 730, self checkout machines turned off even tho 15 people are still in there shopping and have to wait for an employee to come turn them back on. Its sad you can't rely on them to pick up some...
