I took my husband Ken Stern to the ER on 2-4-25 around 1:30 p.m. and he was checked in and then was taken to triage because he was having problems with his sugar and was shaking. They checked his sugar and it was down some so he was asked to wait in the lobby til he is called, still shaking etc. We waited two hours and then I had asked if he was going back anytime soon and the girl Patty I spoke with at the receptionist number 3 side said she doesn't know when he will be going back. After waiting over two hours, I told them just to take him out of the system and that we are leaving. The girl who worked in triage took Ken in when we got there, she had long blonde hair, skinny girl, I think her name began with a K. Anyhow she was not very nice according to my husband, Ken had to be in a wheelchair because he could barely stand and he was shaking bad so when she called him into triage she sees Ken struggling to get out of the wheelchair and walk towards her to sit in the chair, she does not offer any kind of help to help him get to the chair, I had to ask her because the wheelchair was blocking the way for me to help him. My husband says all she did was say yes and offer two fingers for him to hold onto, really two fingers for Ken to hold onto for him to get help to the chair, how unprofessional is this place and is she to not offer a little more respectful help. This is a patient who could fall because of how he is feeling and she offers two fingers for him to hold onto. Ridiculous!!!! Also there was a woman that was waiting there longer than we were and like I said we were there already over two hours and this man had come in about maybe an hour after my husband was already there and he got taken back for an x-ray and then brought back out and then around 3:30 he was taken back to the ER and I looked at my husband and said you were here before him and that you should have gone in before him, here is my husband sitting in the wheelchair shaking still after two hours and this man who had a chest x-ray and a cough gets taken back before my husband who's sugar was high and he is shaking and they take him before Ken, crazy how your ER runs when you have patients that are needed to be seen. This guy who had the chest x-ray done was taken before a woman who was there even longer than my husband. I love how your ER picks and chooses who they take first back to the ER to be seen. It's supposed to be by severity. Also a man came in around 3 pm and went to window number one, the same girl who spoke with me at 1:30 and took my husband's info, said I am done for the day to the man, you have to go to number 3 to be checked in, and she rudely said to the man, you have to read the signs. I felt bad for the guy because she was so rude about it to him just because she was done, first off she is still sitting there so anyone is going to think that she is still working and not done. Perhaps your employees need to put up a sign to let someone know they are closed instead of the rude attitude she had with the person. She was a young girl. I didn't get her name but she was at window number 1 at 1:30 and was the same girl who got nasty with the guy who came into be seen when she was leaving around 3 pm I believe. I don't even want to give your ER a one star because they don't deserve it. You really need to make it where if someone doesn't want to put a star can do so instead of forcing someone to give your ER a star. My husband never got seen, we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKathy Eutsey is a terrible elderly woman. I understand sheās problem been in health care a long time and thatās why she probably needs to retire.
I came in this morning after 5 days of fever, severe chest congestion, cough, and shortness of breath. My original plan was to have my mom drive me to medexpress until I stood up this morning and had pretty intense shortness of breath, lips turning a bit purple, chills, and a fever that was now not going down with medication. The real problem? I have history of blood clots and PE and she had the nerve to ask me why not go to the doctor. I also didnāt have my insurance card which gave me attitude about. Where I mentioned āI have an ultrasound HERE today at 2 with my insurance info already on fileā. But somehow the hospital doesnāt have it. As I said the plan was to go to medexpress until I stood up with shortness of breath. Iām unsure if this woman had had any experience with near death situations (while I was 8 months pregnant during PE to add). But fear brings me hear, I have to beautiful daughters to raise and Iāll be damned if Iām an inconvenience to come to the hospital due to my history. If your sensitivity and care in the industry is declining in the medical field you need to retire or find a different position. Everyone says not to come to Frick but the shortness of breath scared me so much I told my mom to bring me here. Next time I will risk my life and head to Latrobe like any other time myself or my family has had an incident. Benefit of the doubt was a big mistake. I understand why everyone says āDo not go to Frick if your life depends on it.ā. I have been nothing but kind since moment I got here. Absolute disgrace of a hospital.
All of that above I typed out at 8:37am. Turns out I tested negative for COVID and Flu I had to have a chest x ray regardless. Good thing I came to the hospital today I have severe pneumonia in both lungs and enlarged lymph nodes which could possible be much more. On top of being told I shouldnāt be at the emergency room there other things. My CT scan ladies (very professional and kind) noticed food when they came to get me. My husband dropped my food off minutes prior and the nurse Amy knew this and said have him tell the front my name and theyāll let him right back. I guess I wasnāt supposed to eat. My nurses also informed me to tell CT my IV was a bit wobbly to ābe careful with itā. I know one thing I will never be back to this hospital I came because it is closest and I was terrified of my shortness of breath when I woke up this morning given my history.
My husband is not from the area we moved here (to my hometown) because we have children and he found a job in his field to be closer to family. He called me worried and said āI told my coworker you are at Frick and he said [go to frick and die quick]ā. So my husband was very worried and suggested moving me. Their reputation is nothing compared to the actual mess and negligence...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLeaving a one because I canāt leave a zero start review. Absolutely worst care Iāve ever receivedā if youād even call it ācareā.
I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks. I had to call them twice to even schedule an appointment. You never talk to a receptionist, you can only ever leave messages. The second time I called I got a call back 2 days later, receptionist was rude (get a different job if you canāt be nice, especially to a newly expecting mother!! itās literally your job).
Again, Iām a new mom and have always heard ā8 weeks for your first prenatalā
Receptionist said 6 weeks and I was genuinely curious and asked why so early, Iāve always heard 8?
āThatās just what we doā
Okay, I donāt really know and they must know whatās best! So I go to my 6 weeks appointment.
All they do is check my weight, take a urine test, do an std swab, and ask the most vague health questions and talk about random tests I can get done later in my pregnancy. A random woman who wasnāt the receptionist or the nurse came into the room after to schedule me for an 8 week appointment and 10 weeks appointment.
My husband and I left feeling really confused and really uninformed about dos/donts, what to expect in coming weeks (AGAIN 1st timers over here) thank god I have family members in the health care system and a doula to ask questions.
3 days before my 8 week appointment I had some bleeding. Not spotting bleeding and cramping. Obviously not good so I call this office. Again. No answer, leave a voicemail at 3-3:20ish. This office closes at 4:30. No call back.
Being worried, I leave work to go to the office before they close to see if they can help explain what was happening. I get there right at 4:28. Theyāre closing, I get it. But again NEVER CALLED ME BACK? the lady just told me to go to the er.
Come Monday for my appointment, I assumed it would be informative, thatās Iād get to talk to a nurse and a doctor to talk about happened to get some answers and talk about familyās history(which is super important in this situation).
Nope. Just an ultra sound and leave. Granted it was a relief to see a heartbeat, but my next appointment wasnāt for another 2 weeks.
I truly feel like I was given NO CARE at this office. None.
This kind of lack of information and care is dangerous and malpractice. Will be sharing and steering all friends and family away from this...
