Next to New — Local services in Mount Pleasant

I’ve been looking for furniture for my home online and on marketplace…. Then I found Next To New!!! Oh my goodness!! It was like my furniture prayers were answered!! Amazing pieces for every room, wall and even outdoor space for my home! But wait, it gets even better…. Then I looked at the prices. Oh my Heavens!! These are name brand, high end pieces of furniture priced at less than half retail cost!! This is the perfect place to furnish, decorate, redesign, stage and much more for anyone’s home. I could not have been happier. The staff is also welcoming and friendly. They don’t follow you around and if you need something, they are happy to help and can even show you some similar items that you might have missed because it is a huge space, with so many great things! Next To New has gained a lifelong client in me and hopefully everyone else who visits this amazing business. I could continue with how happy I am in finding this store but I could go on for ever.

Visited this place about 6-7 times when I first moved to MP, and had an entire house to furnish. Not once was I greeted by the women standing at the counter, who always seemed to be in lively conversation with each other. This was so noticeable, being an anomaly in the otherwise "friendly South" and the genuine warmth I experienced in other local stores. I even dragged my husband there once, who assisted, unasked, in helping two employees move a heavy dresser out of the aisle. They walked away with nary a thank you, as they chatted to each other. It was just baffling and off-putting. As for their inventory, it is okay, seems a bit overpriced for used junk. I never found a single thing I would buy, and had much better...

This is a cozy, nice place with good lighting and sunlight coming through the windows. Not drabby like most consignment shops… HOWEVER, the staff wasn’t friendly. Not unprofessional but not friendly… not rude just not friendly. Not helpful at all and we were the only ones there. The pieces were nice and the prices weren’t high priced … I just don’t spend money with folks who are unfriendly. I probably wouldn’t visit here again but I wouldn’t discourage anyone else from visiting. Perhaps, you’d have a better experience or maybe the staff will learn manners of good...
