It’s been a few years since I have taken my kids to Colonial City Lanes. I was pleasantly surprised with the updates and clean, family environment. I was mostly pleased with the kind, courteous gentleman working tonight. He was very helpful -many times-and remained friendly throughout. The owners are also very friendly and generous with their time. The hours of operation were given on a voice message when I called therefore, easy to find. The bowling alley is handicap accessible with plenty of parking. It is located between Legends Sports bar (which offers a sand volley ball court, pool tables, outdoor seating, and food) and The Pirates Cove. I was also impressed with the growing amount of leagues using the facility. If you’re looking to join a league give them a call! Colonial City is also a great place for birthday parties. There were two parties happening while we were there. There is plenty of space, lanes, and opportunity for great, affordable family fun. If you haven’t been bowling in a while give them a shot! Read moreThis was my first time at Colonial and I have to say, while they do have the old school screens, I was glad to see it. They're much easier to operate.
As far as the lanes are concerned, we were able to quickly get set on a lane and the accessibility was vital as one of our party was in a wheelchair. We had no issue getting her onto the lane and they had ramps for her to use.
The only issues we ran into were with the lane. One ball got stuck and the ball conveyor left a decent rubber skid mark on the ball, but the lady running the desk addressed it immediately and cleaned the ball herself.
Also, my brother and his girlfriend enjoyed the bar food, so that's always a plus.
Overall, would definitely return and will definitely recommend this place for bowling to friends that...
Read moreKind of expensive! I took my five year old bowling on a cold Saturday afternoon and the cost for shoe rentals and one game of bowling was $14! The amenities are rather lacking as well. The snack bar consists of overpriced cans of soda and nothing else. There is one small vending machine that has chips and candy bars, again over priced. You can order from Pirates Cove next door, but they have created a limited menu for bowling customers to order from. There are a couple of video games, but no game room. This is not a bad place. It is just not overly...
