Attention Women avoid this office. I'm a military dependent. They were closed during regular business hours. Door locked. Several officers stood there confused until someone appeared. The man who opened the door would not even talk to me, looking past me to the officers behind me. I very calmly explained that I have an appointment with a specialist at Walter Reed tomorrow morning for serious medical condition, and I need a valid ID. The man was extremely rude, and said "That's NOT my problem. And don't speak until I tell you it's your turn."
When he did direct his attention to me, he flat out told me they aren't even taking people in uniform due to short staffing let alone people not in uniform, reiterating again I'm not allowed to talk until he tells me I can, despite being first in line and despite the young officers in uniform (also confused and waiting) asking him to listen to my inquiry. He said he didn't know when in the future they will have enough staff to provide IDs again. And yes, reiterated AGAIN that dependents needing medical care was not his problem nor would it be a priority in the near future.
I went back five minutes later after sitting in my car. I really felt disrespected, and I realized I should stand up for myself. This made me extremely nervous, but I went back. I asked FIVE times for his name. He would NOT give it to me until I walked into the building, raised my voice asking extremely loudly showing my unwillingness to be bullied, although I was quite visibly shaken, and this drew attention to what was going on. He used his body much larger than mine walking aggressively towards me to "herd" me towards the door, staring at me without blinking. I am 5'2" and 100lbs. At the door, he handed me a piece of paper. His name is James Kennedy. I am going to say this publicly, he does not reflect the decorum of the military. He is compassionless, aggressive and a bully. He was extremely disrespectful to me either because I'm a woman or not active duty member. Either way, he made it very clear I'm inferior, insignificant and to be dealt with in an crude,...
Read moreReading some of these reviews caused me to double check the heading thinking I must be confused and I was thinking of a different facility. Fast and friendly are two words I would never use to describe this place or 90%of the staff.
My first attempt was on a Friday. I arrived at 2pm (hours state open until 4pm) and was turned away because they were at capacity. This was announced on a hard to see or read sign taped to the door. So professional. What a joke.
Next attempt was the following Tuesday (holiday weekend). We arrived at 815 (opens at 8am) and our ticket predicted a 1 hour 18 minutes wait. 3 hours and 50 minutes later we left with one of the 3 IDs requested/needed. Our sponsor was not with us but had filled out the paperwork (at another post) allowing us to get them without his presence. Apparently only 1 of the 3 requested were processed properly on his end. And as absurd as it might seem with the technology available in 2018 this was not something that could be confirmed at check in. So we waited 3.5 hours to be told the required forms hadn't not been properly processed.
Zero compassion or craps by the people that work there and they don't have to have any because there is less than zero accountability for efficiency, job performance or number of clients serviced. I saw numerous people from the front end staff strolling aimlessly about occasionally tending to a work related task.
In summary, you have very limited options so be prepared to waste several hours waiting for...
Read moreWorst customer service of all time. I went in last thursday to get my ID done, they are supposed to be open until 4, however, at 3:35 most of the lights were off inside and the door was locked. I knocked and a person on the other side who apparently thought I couldn't hear them laughed and said to one of the other employees "Ha, they knockin, I ain't letting they asses in, I'm goin home". So I went in through a different door, and ran into the three civilian employees on their way out, their explanation was that even though the sign says they are "open" till 4, they don't work after 3:30 unless there's a line from before then. Ok, whatever, I went home, decided I would come back this week.
I went back over there today around 1:30, a full two hours before their unofficial closing time, and they said they were "too busy" to accept walk in appointments. There were only 5 or 6 people in the waiting room. It does not take 2 and a half hours to make ID's for 5 or 6 people, it shouldn't even take a fraction of that amount of time. Even the DMV gets it done many times quicker than that, and the DMV's wait times are legendary.
Rating 1 star because 0 isn't an option on this platform, didn't get my ID for the second day in a row today because they don't have their act together. I'm getting my ID done at Andrews instead, it's a further drive, but worth it for the guarantee that I'll actually leave with a new ID...
