My personal experiences have left me with serious medical trauma & permanent, lifelong damage to my body, & when I've tried to report these things, I'm ignored. Patient Relations has ignored everything I've sent to them. Because of my health issues, I'm forced to keep going to appts where these kinds of issues continue to recur because the hospital & staff aren't interested in feedback to improve their systems/how the patients are treated. I have tried to report: Lying about information in my medical file; Causing permanent damage to my body through surgical procedures that they were ill-prepared to perform. Communication issues, everything from a provider/staff member being egregiously rude (I really can not emphasize enough how rude most medical professionals are to their patients. The forums online would have you believe that staff are only rude to rude patients, but a lot of the time, patients are rude to rude staff because we are in pain, seriously ill, & being treated contemptuously) to ineffective communication between depts. impacting patient care.
Upon doing further research into how hospitals & providers deal with patient complaints, I have found a lot of reports from medical staff talking online about how they typically ignore these things. I have read a lot of discussion threads where they are openly complaining about the patients who complain, disregarding their experiences, & lumping all of them into a category of being a difficult w/ no valid concerns to address. I understand that providers & hospitals do get some unreasonable complaints, but this admittance, on just about every thread you can find online with medical staff discussions, shows that those working in the medical field truly do not care about what their patients think/feel. They admit to throwing away the complaints & ignoring the majority of them.
I implore everyone w/ negative experiences w/ their doctors & hospital systems to file complaints. It may feel futile, but the more complaints they receive, the less they will be able to ignore us. Also, do file with these other agencies. -Your insurance directly -Washington State Department of Health -Washington Medical Commission -Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner -Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission
Please write reviews, so other patients can be informed about your experience w/ particular doctors/medical staff & medical facilities. A lot of us turn to reviews to help inform our decisions on what to purchase, who to see for a service, etc. Not enough people report their bad experiences. Please take the 15 minutes to write about your experience & publish it. I have seen a lot of providers that have nearly 5-star reviews online, that have been some of the worst doctors that I have encountered, & I have heard stories of how bad they are by others in the community, but this isn't getting reported online, so their numbers remain deceptively high.
I also implore medical staff to remind themselves that the patients are the ones in the position of suffering, & you are in the position of compassion. If you are not interested in compassionately caring for your patients, please do us all a favor & change your career path. If you are so burnt out by the system you are working in, you need to stand up for yourself & your co-workers, & dare I say your patients, & try to implement change. If you are so burnt out that you can't provide compassionate care, then you need to voluntarily excuse yourself from working in a position that requires that as a basic feature of the...
Read moreEdit: My uncle was rushed here having a heart attack last week, he unfortunately passed.. after he passed away staff here asked my family 3 times within 30 minutes where we planned on taking his body, he hadn't been deceased for an hour and this was totally unexpected. By the third time my family was getting really disturbed by this. When I worked in the medical field we cared about people, I don't know what is going on but it's disgraceful!
My husband and I went to the emergency room and there was absolutely no care for the elderly / disabled patients in the waiting room. We drove one patient home as he was sent out on the streets after hours of waiting to be seen, in his wheelchair to try and wheel miles home at 2 AM. Which if you’ve been there, there’s a huge hill to get back into town which he would’ve had to go down. We fed people in the waiting area that had been there for hours and hours and helped disabled/ederly patients to the bathroom and back in their wheelchairs. No one was helping them that worked there. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this facility. Our medical system is broken. If you would like to see a facility that makes a profit off of people suffering this is the place for you. They mishandle claims and you will receive surprise medical bills after the claims have been paid in full. And if you have any questions, no one will speak to you about it. This facility is one of the worst of its kind and keeps hitting new lows. Not only do they mishandle billing, their care is subpar. I had a mishandled claim with this facility and they send their extremely aggressive collection agency after you, and they will sue you. Then go to their facility and find a new block and building purchased off of your misfortunes, it's disgusting! This medical system really needs to change. It is really bad it’s not to make you better it is to Keep you dependent upon it. So much better off eating with the Earth has provided if you grow it yourself and taking the natural way out.. I would never go to a doctors office here again. The other issue I had was when making an appointment for my husband to see his endocrine, As he had run out of his insulin and was trying to refill. Then calling his doctors office, they told him they cannot see him for six months, knowing that he has type one and has no insulin, I ask if there were any cancellations if they could please give us a call of course they didn’t. Nor did they care that my husband was completely out of his medication. We had to find multiple other pathways to try and get insulin so he wouldn’t die before his appointment, then when we made it in there. this system is failing us and not to mention that it’s prey on people that are easily victimized - older people, I feel would be intimidated into paying things that are not...
Read moreI would NOT recommend the primary care clinic. I scheduled an appointment that was next day with Anastasia Bernhard D.O. Perhaps her last minute availability is by chance or that she’s as awful to her clients as she was to me. She walked into the patient room with a stuck up snobby attitude and smirk on her face and annoyed demeanor the ENTIRE time. Just like several other reviewers mentioned they Anastasia is dismissive and if you ask any clarifying question regarding treatment or ask for more options they get aggressive and argumentative with you to get a reaction out of you to manipulate the fact that their incompetence and ignorance is behind their medical opinions. I was seen for an issue that could have had a scan ordered but she smirked and make prejudice commentary and refused then made me agree with her and when I asked what the name of the scan was she was refusing she make further snarky comments and said she was going to get her medical team manager Rosa. This woman was just as rude and condescending and didn’t provide any help at all. She also was just as argumentative and rude to me. This treatment trying to establish medical care being new to the area but not to medicine was was highly unusual, stressful and aggravating. I’ve never had a medical provider cry to her boss that she was being asked clarifying questions. Not once did she ask if I had any questions or concerns. Not once did Anastasia ask if my other condition was a concern. Nothing. She just left me to deal with a clinical manager. Rude and highly unprofessional. I never got aftercare paperwork upon my departure even though I asked for it 3 times. Let’s not forget the awful reception who upon walking in glared at me didn’t provide any warm welcome and loudly asked me my race 3 times until I replied. Then my marital status. Usually this personal information can be filled out or done with privacy when I asked I was made fun of. I had already provided my ID and insurance card at walk in. By the reception was super adamant about check I’m not being complete without my race, marital status and employment status. I’ve never been offended and humiliated at a doctors office before. There is so much prejudice being done and highly personal remarks being made. This treatment is exactly why so many fear the doctors and have untreated medical conditions. I would highly recommend driving to the...
