Whidbey Island Bagel Factory — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Sorry I have to rave. Pregnant me feels really strongly about this place.

First, they are always so kind and work with my aversions and cravings with all the kindness that no one else seems to have for people growing a human being.

Second, their bagels are legit the BEST. Almost a sourdough taste and consistency, with fun toppings that are never skimped on. I used to dream of visiting the east coast to try bagel places. Those dreams are now dead because of this place.

Third, this place’s vibes are unbeatable. Everything is made in house, including their cream cheese (if you’re taking bagels to-go, don’t even think of ruining them at home with your Philadelphia whip, get the cream cheese). I know I’ve already spoken of their wonderful service but I can’t get over the neighborhood feels. Families walking down the street to get lunch together, people swinging through on their way to work — they know they’re awesome without being boastful or edgy.

The Bagel Factory is delicious! They have great quality food, tastes super good, it's great. The staff is very friendly and sweet... however, without fail they mess up every order. Every time I order, I never get what I asked for. It's not even remotely close to what I order half of the time. It's gotten to the point where my friends, family, and I don't go often anymore because of how often the order is incorrect. I never normally write reviews but it blows my mind how incorrect the order is every single time. I don't mind paying the price given that it is delicious and well prepared and good quality as I mentioned, however it's way to expensive to get a completely wrong order. It's not worth it to have to order, pay, wait, and at the end have to double check any order big or small. I'm not sure if paying $10 a bagel is reasonable when you don't get what you order ever! Edit: Changing my review to 5 stars. They’ve really settled into their groove now that they’re open indoors and the mistakes have been dealt with. Best bagels around, easy.

Hate to leave a review for anything that’s not 5 stars because the bagels here are fantastic. Unfortunately, the staff is not. I’d say I’ve become a “regular” at this point, going here 1-3 times a week for a morning bagel and it seems almost 50% of the time, they fumble the order somehow. Multiple times now I get the wrong cream cheese spread on the bagel or the wrong size hot beverage.

I suppose it’s on me for not checking at the moment they pass the food/drink thru the window but really, how hard is it to listen and fulfill an order with 2 or 3 items at most?

I wouldn’t leave this review if it was a one-off thing but it seems to be an almost regular occurrence now. Hoping something can be done to correct all the little mistakes because the food really...
