Mountain Country Cabin Rentals — Local services in Murphy

We rented Mountain Woods Getaway and were pleased with every part of our experience with this cabin and this rental agency. The agency was great to work with, even talking me through an internet glitch to get things back up after a brief outage. The property was obviously set up and maintained by people who understand the needs of a vacation kitchen --huge array of utensils, cookware, dishes, glasses, etc. All areas were clean, everything functioned as it should, plenty of clothes-hangers in closets, a Smart TV in the bedroom, large flat-screen TV in the living room, strong WiFi and cell service, overall very light and homey. The only snag, which is no one's fault, is the water, especially the hot water, has a strong sulfur smell. This is typical for well water in this part of NC. While unpleasant while the water's running, the smell doesn't stay on skin or hair. The refrigerator has cold filtered water inside (not in the door) which we used for cooking and drinking. Heating and cooling were fine (dual systems). The large yard is fenced, the views are gorgeous, the road in isn't scary, and this property is private-ish but not isolated. There are lots of games, DVDs, and the pool table and ping pong table for entertainment. The booking process was easy and communication was great. Rented Red Door Cabin...If I could leave 0 stars I would actually leave a -20. Rented a cabin just this past weekend with this company CHRISTMAS eve and CHRISTMAS day. The cabin itself was tasteful ...it wasnt the cabin persay... the problem ..."The problem is Mountain Country Management company".. They didnt check the cabin out thoroughly before they rented it to us..apparently the cleaners dont do the job they should (dishes dirty stuck on food on several dishes and coffee filter found in coffee pot with mold and magnots inside) additionally they should have WITHOUT question, being that it was Christmas and the cabin will have been occupied, check the propane tank for the fireplace and it was EMPTY...Broken promises and No communication from the company... Had to leave "on" christmas day MONDAY due to the filth, drive back another 8 hrs after driving to get there 8 hours on sat.. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY I WOULD SUGGEST NOT RENTING FROM THEM AND CHOOSING...

We stayed in the Foothills Fixation. Where to start? There was a fireplace in the living room but it didn't work. There was no TV in the living room. The floors on the main floor we're filthy. There were five adults, so one got the loft, two got the main floor and two got what I would consider a rumpus room. Oh, it was large, but that's the only good thing I can say! There was a TV that wasn't hooked up to the satellite but it had a DVD player and a WI game. Neither worked. The rugs we're filthy. The "bedroom" was a cave, no windows. One closet that had no bar to hang clothes and no dresser. We lived out of our suitcase. There were no tables on the deck for outside eating. I'm reluctant to even give one star because I will never stay there again and I don't recommend it to...
