MIXT KITCHEN — Restaurant in North Carolina

We decided to try based on reviews. Seeing that there was only one table occupied when we went inside should have been a clue to leave. They do not serve alcohol. They do not serve fountain drinks. They have bottled drinks in a cooler. The chips they serve are few and are not good. They are not warmed. When we asked for more to have with our cheese dip, the host brought them in a scoop to our table and put them in our basket. The worst part was our salsa had a hair in it. The host apologized, but after that, I lost my appetite. My friend ordered the shrimp cocktail and did say it was good. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was the worst I've ever tasted. Rice and beans were also the worst. I can't imagine why they have such good reviews. Would never eat here again and do not recommend. The look and feel were nice, but I'm not there to enjoy the look or feel, im there to eat good food, which I did not get to do. Everyone at my table was disappointed with either the price, quantity, or quality. You couldn't pass the food off as fast food without insulting McDonald's because of how terrible eating here was. The bill was a total of $100, I feel like I should've been paid to eat this food to make up for the damage it's going to do to my insides. My burrito tasted like steak, bologna, and beans. I don't know about you, but I shouldn't be tasting bologna or a canned meat taste in my Mexican food. Another member of my table let me try their nachos. The meat was spongey and strange tasting. We arrived at lunchtime on a Wednesday. The parking lot area in front was dirty and gave it an unfair opinion before entering. The restaurant was very clean inside. It was also empty, which we found strange because it was just after noontime. We ordered a chicken quesadilla and chicken tacos. They came with rice and beans. All of the food was good and hot from the kitchen. I'm not sure if it is a new restaurant or if they get more people at dinnertime. The emptiness really felt strange. The waitress was good, not overly attentive. They might want to have some lunch specials to draw customers in. Our bill was $32 with a water and soda as drinks. Maybe too high price? Hope it was just an off day...
