Update in reply to owner:
I am well aware of the hats which only cover the top of the head. I realize nets are not pleasant to wear, however it does prevent lose hair that dangles down & around the neck. They do make nets to match hair color. I worked at Publix in the deli for a year. The sub station is the same close quarters as your place. Just sit at the bar or at a table and simply observe for less then a half hour during the busiest times. And tell me what you observe. That's all I ask. It wasn't the first time I had hair there. It was only on the plate, rather then say anything I simply removed it. I felt nauseated but finished most of it. I was with a handful of church elders and didn't want to upset them. I returned the following week when the black hair was actually attached to the last piece on my bacon... (I am blonde). I tryed to not think about it... But I was just finishing up when I discovered it...suddenly I couldn't hold back, I gagged loudly a few times then ran to the bathroom.... Ugh. I am not mad or anything. Just making a suggestion. I get your position and no places like yours wears nets unfortunately. What I don't get is why the health department doesn't make that mandatory. Hey, it's your business and if that doesn't nor ever caused you pause, keep on keeping on. The food has always been good.... But after that experience, I can't say that I'd be back. But won't rule it out totally either. It'll just be quite a while b4 I consider going back that's all. Thank you for your kind reply.
Very busy short staffed but good food. Except for the black hair attached to my bacon as I was ready for my last bite. I ended up throwing up breakfast in the bathroom. It doesn't make sense as to why any staff that's behind the counter as well as behind the chef doesn't wear some sort of net to keep their hair from falling into the food, They did take the meal off but most likely I won't be back until they put some netting around their hair because they're in the kitchen as well as you know serving people it just...
Read moreWhen we moved to Murphy from Asheville, we wanted to find a good breakfast spot. Little did I know that I'd find a breakfast, lunch AND dinner spot, all at the same place. My husband, 3 kiddos and myself have NEVER been disappointed with the food, nor the service. The food is really good, but the service is what keeps us coming back. Now don't get me wrong, ALL the LADIES that work there are awesome! Buuuut Brittany was the only server that we had the first 10 or so times going, so she has became OUR SERVER in the mornings. She is the sweetest thing, and is one hell of a server. My kids love her to death, because she talks to them (not asking me or my husband what they want) and she remembers their names and what they like to drink. After eating there for a couple months, i noticed a "now hiring" sign and talked with some of the girls about how they liked working there. Well, here I am, my 3rd week of work, and I can tell you that I am already super impressed by the way employees are treated not only by the owner, and each other, but the customers are just as awesome. I have fallen in love with Murphy all over again....this time its the people....not the mountains! Soooo, come in for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a midnight snack, and one of our amazing servers and talented cooks will...
Read moreWe have seen this restaurant many times while visiting Murphy but never had the opportunity to stop. Before leaving after a wonderful week, we made one last stop here for breakfast. We were able to be seated immediately in a large booth that held our family. The waitress greeted us immediately and was so quick to bring our drinks and gave enough time to peruse the menu so we could read it over carefully. Once our orders were taken, it wasn't more than 10 minutes before we received our food. The waffles were perfect, steaming hot and crispy brown. The rest of the food arrived just as fast - just right bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, delicious hash browns and hot buttered toast that was just the right addition. I couldn't get over the speed with which it all arrived, and not one bad serving of food. Everyone loved this meal and there wasn't a single complaint. If you're looking for a reasonably priced breakfast spot that everyone in your group will love, this is the place to go... definitely 5 stars for the amount of food, prices, friendly staff.... I'll go back every time we...
