Today was my last class at Awaken Studios, and leaving is bittersweet. If it weren’t for our out-of-state move, we’d be here for years to come. My wife and I have been attending Awaken consistently for over a year, and it’s hard to put into words how much this place has meant to us.
Liilu Hansen’s Saturday morning yoga class became a non-negotiable part of our week. No matter how stressful things got, we knew we could show up to her class, reset, and walk out feeling lighter. Her presence is calm, grounding, and exactly what we needed.
Kevin Carrington’s Pilates classes kicked our ass in the best way. He knows exactly how to push you while keeping things fun, and because of it, we feel stronger than ever. We always left his class exhausted but proud of what we accomplished.
Lindsi Steven is just an absolutely incredible person, and her Buns & Guns class was one of the most impactful for us. We learned so much from her about strength training, and her teaching style gave us total confidence in the weight room. I trusted her enough to push my parents (who are 55+) to start lifting with her, and that’s saying something. She’s an incredible coach.
We also really enjoyed Britney Lindsay’s yoga and Hillary Brown’s Pilates classes whenever we had the chance to take them. Every instructor at Awaken brings something special, and the culture they’ve built is something you don’t find just anywhere. Health and wellness can feel intimidating, but this place makes it welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
We’re going to miss Awaken Studios more than we can say, and we can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a supportive, high-quality...
Read moreThis place is incredible! Every class and instructor are fantastic. The only downside is that their 9am & 10am classes are constantly full and you have to stay up until midnight two weeks before in order to have a chance to get into the fit or reformer classes at 9am. They should offer more than one of these classes at 9am or not accept anymore members for these slots. It’s 7am (registration opened at midnight) and the 9am fit and reformer classes are already full with a waitlist.
The receptionist recommended setting an alarm every night at midnight. That’s crazy! Each night another day of classes opens up at midnight. This is nuts. Why can’t it be noon or something that is in line with their mission statement of health, well being and balance?
For me staying up until midnight is unhealthy and not realistic with a busy home life and kids.
Please change the registration time to something healthy like sometime between 7am-8pm!
Aside from that, be prepared to wake up at 5am to take classes before dropping kids off at school and hopefully get a nap in before picking kids up from...
Read moreKevin Carrington is hands down my favorite yoga instructor. I first took his class at the State of Mind series. In a sea of 400+ people his energy and passion reached everyone. I knew I had to find where he was teaching at, which lead me to Awaken Studios. ☺️
Kevin has a magical way of empowering you through movement, making every class an experience rather than just a workout. His Power Up / Power Down class is the perfect balance of strength and restoration—building in intensity while remaining accessible for different levels. Kevin creates such a welcoming and encouraging environment, making everyone feel comfortable, and supported. He always weaves insightful messages into class, offering moments of reflection and encouragement that stay with you long after you leave the mat. After every class, my body feels absolutely amazing—strong, refreshed, and rejuvenated. I always leave feeling both energized and renewed. I need Kevin’s...
