Wheeler Historic Farm is a wonderful place to visit, anytime of the year, all year around! The stunning mountain views, the rushing river & creeks, the walking trails, the historic architectures & the animals will make you want to stop & take a photo or just stop & stare at all the beauty that surrounds you. The farm is an ideal place for a walk, jog & or a run. It's the perfect setting for a picnic with the family or a date with a loved one. It's also a preferred place for an eye catching backdrop for many styles of photography. The farm offers many different family friendly activities, depending on the season. The farm has many activities for the whole family to enjoy! They offer Wagon Rides, Cow Milking & many more activities. Look at their website for full details, pricing & reservations. In the Spring, new members of the farm are being born, so keep a look out for all the new babies! In the Fall, they decorate the farm to reflect Halloween, they have a Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze & more. During Summer, they host a Farmers Market where many venues come to sell fresh fruits, vegetables, treats & so many delicious goodies! My family & I, along with our dog, visit the farm at least twice a week. All week long we look forward to the weekend when we go to the farm, enjoy a brisk walk & capture beautiful photos along the way. My favorite part of the farm has to be the historic architecture that's been so beautifully preserved. I enjoy viewing the old farm equipment they have throughout the farm, as well as the new equipment & see how much work goes into keeping this historic farm alive. Lastly, it wouldn't be a farm without animals! Seeing all the animals is absolutely my favorite part. They are all so beautiful & very well cared for. If you decide to visit, please have respect for the property & for the animals. Follow the rules & read the signs. If you bring your dog(s) remember they must be leashed at all times. Please clean up after your pet(s). If you forget your doggie bags, they have bags at the entrance & through out the walking trails. They also have several garbage bins throughout the farm so, there's no excuse not to clean up after yourself & or your pet(s). The farm is Free for all to enjoy (except for some activities, please refer to their website for more information), so have fun & enjoy! I hope to see you there, we always say hello to anyone we pass on...
Read moreLove this place, we went here for a work party. However keep in mind there is not nearly enough seating for everyone so alot of people were sitting on the lawn, they could use more seating in the park.
But there are tiny details put into this place that have to be appreciated. Like the leaf prints in the sidewalk when the concrete was laid, beautiful. And the wooden carved statues made my incredibly talented artists! I was blown away at the creativity and effort put into each one.
I love how they protect this important piece of history. We were standing on the front porch of a house and we could see, in our minds, the wagons going by on a dirt road. It truly is a wonderful place to visit- a MUST to visit here in Utah. They grow strawberries and other fruits and the flowers were in full bloom, they were gorgeous. They keep the old houses and equipment in good shape.
Pets and children also love it here, and they had alot of ducks and birds. My only complaints are 2, first the restroom stalls have not been cleaned what looks like years now. The toilets themselves were clean and their was a new bag in the trash can so I know that someone has been in there for maintenance... but the stall doors are covered in filth- a quick run with a wet wipe will probably do the trick. There was a fresh bag lined the trash and plenty of toilet paper... so someone definitely comes to clean the bathrooms just not the stalls unfortunately.
And the second is there was a bunch of garbage in the lake and the ducks were trying to put their heads inside of broken coke cans and trying to eat what looks like an old bag of tea. Please keep this place cleaner, the poor animals will suffer and the stalls in the bathroom were filthy. It's not hard to get a volunteer to come out with pool cleaning supplies and scoop out the garbage from the lake. You protect this place but don't keep it clean,...
