Earth's Edge — Local services in Muskegon Charter Township

LOVE the Muskegon store! My spouse and I recently moved to Michigan, and immediately started looking for a locally-owned outdoor retail store. We are both very active outdoors and have a good bit of experience with both gear and different clothing companies (like Patagonia and Kuhl) we've come to love and trust. Initially, we only went to the Grand Haven store (because that was the only one we knew about). Though we loved the products they were selling, the super nice people working in the store would not leave us alone. When we'd say, "I'm just looking" or "I know exactly what I'm looking for and where to find it" (during four different trips there), the same person, or another sales associate would appear making comments about the great thing we happened to be holding in our hands, or say, "In case you didn't know, they also make..." and point to something we had no interest in. After four tries of going to this store and trying to shop without feeling watched or followed, we decided that we'd just drive to REI in Grand Rapids if and when we needed something. I can’t say enough nice things about this store and the people working there. I went in for the first time and was greeted by multiple employees. I was offered assistance as well as genuine conversation. The selection was great and I was happy to see some discounts on there as well. This store is a great addition to our area and I can see myself coming back frequently & recommending to friends & family. I must have come in right before close because I noticed that it was well after close when I left. However, I never would have known that or felt rushed while I was in there. They have a really nice wide selection of both men and women outdoor wear.. personally I have bought two pairs of winter gloves and a winter face mask that were both really nice from this place they also carry Opinel french pocket knives which are hard to come by unless you order them online. They have a bunch of cool stuff here. There's another location in grand haven about 20 minutes away...
