Here's the review you fought me over, Izzy! Hope it was worth arguing with a customer over who was only trying to benefit you. Here's what Izzy asked me to post: "I got a fridge worth over $3k for $1000." Which is absolutely true, but let me share why this review is only 1 star when it should have been 4/5.
I went in one evening after messaging back and forth about a fridge. That evening both Angelo and Izzy were there. They helped me to decide on the refrigerator we would be purchasing. Izzy and I worked out arrangements for us to pick it up the next day at 12:30 and that they would have the refrigerator ready to go (the doors were off hinge a bit and the handles would be installed) and that they would have someone there to help load it into my husband's truck. Before I left, Izzy asked me if I would write a google review for them. I said sure because I love to support local shops. He then asked if I would do it right then, which I thought was odd but since I'm sure people forget often, I understand why he would ask that. So I started to pull it up on my phone and then got a phone call from my daughter whose car was broken down. As I started to leave, Izzy asked me again if I would write the review and I said, "I will! I promise!" as I was leaving to go get my child who was stranded on the side of the road. Once I got home a couple hours later, I went to go write the review but then thought that I would rather write a full review after the transaction was complete. My husband was able to come earlier to get the fridge, he called but they didn't have the help then so we switched vehicles so that I could come at the planned 12:30 time. When I called around 12:15, I was told to come around 1:30 instead, which wasn't that big of a deal for me. I arrived at 1:15 so I had to wait until Angelo and another guy showed up to load the truck. While waiting, Izzy asked me if I had written the review. I told him that I hadn't yet because I wanted to write a review on the full experience. I couldn't even finish my sentence before Izzy got very defensive and started speaking aggressively to me saying, "You promised you would write the review!! You didn't keep your promise!!" I tried to explain to him that as a customer, I prefer reviews that are detailed so I wanted to give a thorough review to help them out more. He started yelling and telling me that all I had to do was make a post that says that I got a $3k fridge for $1k. And continued berating me about not keeping my promise. Then Angelo and the other guy come in and he tells them "She's refusing to write the review!" and so I said, "no, i never said that but the way you are acting is making me not want to write the review at all!" He finally drops it and then the 3 of them get the fridge in the truck. I do want to say that Angelo and the other guy were very kind, polite and helpful the entire time. Finally, just as we were finishing up, I was outside with Angelo and told him that he needs to talk to Izzy and have him chill out and I was explaining to him everything Izzy had said to me earlier. Then, Izzy comes out and starts attacking me about me not keeping my word about the review and I repeatedly told him that I waited because I wanted to do a better review for him but somehow that offended him. Since he kept attacking my character by saying I didn't keep my word, I had to remind him that he didn't keep his word by having the refrigerator ready (doors adjusted & handles) and they weren't ready at 12:30 which was the agreed upon time. Which, both of those things aren't big deals to me at all but since he kept attacking me, I had to remind him of how he didn't keep his word and then he finally said, "okay, lets drop it. I guess we are even then." Also, after all that, the handles we got were the wrong ones, and we were missing the dispenser tray & the butter tray.    Read more11/22/21 I purchased appliances over via phone for a new home in Myrtle Beach. Due to the pandemic my home was not finished in Dec. 2021. Angelo @ A1 Appliance agreed to store these appliances for an undetermined amount of time. I chose A1 because it was the only small business I found in Myrtle Beach that serviced what they sell with a 1 year warranty. My home wasnât finished until Jan. 2023.Untimely I finally took delivery of âsimilarâ model appliances on or about Jan. 9th, 2023. The appliances looked like they came from a scratch and dent sale, I purchased new. I never signed a statement the products were in satisfactory condition. Angelo told me he would make good on replacement parts and labor. He was also to swap out the clothes dryer due to the scratches and word âokâ written on it. Itâs been 12 months and heâs never made good on his word. There is a video posted on YouTube of Angelo recorded by Living Local Carolina, WBTW, a local TV show. In the video he tells of the one year âparts and serviceâ warranty. At no time did I ever expect to get appliances that did not âcome out of a new boxâ. The pictures show the hand written notes on the washer & dryer, the dents on the refrigerator, the freezer door doesnât always completely close properly which causes frost buildup and the motor running continuously. I corresponded with Angelo, via phone, text, visits to his store. All resulting in promises he never kept. The refrigerator has the same scratches and dents, the freezer has the same problem, the clothes dryer now leaves black streaks on garments. Angelo committed to correcting these issues and never did. I have given him every opportunity to make things right. Now I seek other options. âCoastal or Costalâ? I feel there is something unethical about this business. I paid A1 Costal not A1 Coastal. I lived in PA. at the time of purchase. After I filed a complaint with the BBB, 2/4/23, Angelo agreed to replace my appliances. 3/1/23 I wasnât surprise but still waiting for the replacements. 3/3/23 they brought me a temporary dryer that wouldnât damage my laundry. 3/4/23 I went to the store to tell them the black dryer delivered the previous day didnât tumble. The person at the store called me a crazy lady that didnât take her meds. This is a poor excuse for a âsmall business â. I prefer supporting small businesses but not at this caliber. I was told by Angelo they were damaged and reordered, so he delivered a Temp fridge and washer and dryer(not the brands i ordered). Now its been nothing but excuses since. Back order, the truck broke down. There in Florida, there in North Carolina, there at his warehouse. The delivery drivers didnt show up. There on the truck being delivered they ran out of time. Then he said he was going to rent a truck and deliver them. I lost count how many times my wife and i were told its being delivered and it doesnt show up. we told him to cancel everything take the temp stuff out and return our money. Angelo said, ok he will return our money to the credit card company. Still hasnt returned our money or removed the temp fridge and washer and dryer. It is now November 21 2023!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is now February 19 2024(A follow up to my November 21 2023 post). I had to contact the fraud department of my credit card company due to A1 appliances not giving me the appliances i ordered and giving me a temp fridge and washer and dryer and refusing to remove them and return my money. The fraud department contacted A1 appliance, where they admitted they didnt give me what i ordered and paid for in full and only gave me temp appliances and still have not removed. After A1 appliance admitted to the fraud department of my credit card company everything i stated. I was issued a temp return on my credit by the credit card company. A1 was given a forty day time to appeal that decision or they could have opted to close the case over 40days ago. They did not opt to close the case and i had to wait another 40 days to make my refund from the fraud dept permanent. IN other words A1 did not appeal the decision, they just cost me, wasted another 40 days of me not getting my money back. So today February 19 2024 and the temp return of my money for a new fridge and washer and dryer have been made permanent by the Fraud dept of my credit card company.
