Hello! I wanted to let any Filipino families know that this store is here. I've lived in Humboldt for a decade and finally found a place that has ingredients for almost every dish you can think of.
They drive Pandesal up from the bay area, specifically the towns I grew up in. Their meat buns, siapao, are from the bakery I grew up next to. They have balut, Korean BBQ ingredients, vegetables including lotus root, bok choy and mushrooms dried and fresh that you wouldnt normally find in other stores. Roce cakes, bento flakes and an amazing selection of rice. Winco might be cheaper but the quality of rice here is no joke. Especially if you are looking for rice for specific dishes. Just having the change to get a 15 pound bag of Jishiki rice is amazing. With out having to drive down to the bay area.
I absolutely adore this place. Be ready to spend more then you bargained for but the number of dishes I've been able to make has increased.
If they don't have it they regularly do supply runs and you can request things! I sometimes call during the week to double check if something is there. Ube, desserts and more. I love this place. Thank you so much for bringing up a bit of home for me and my friends who are learning so many new flavors because of the products that...
Read moreQuite a small store , a little expensive (in comparison for items you can get elsewhere) BUT there’s a lot of items that you Cannot get elsewhere and it’s awesome to have a store with the Asian drinks and candy I’m looking for. They also have kimchi, sauces, soup mix, seasonings, frozen proteins, tteok-bokki, and white board behind the counter says they have thin sliced meats They didn’t have oolong tea when I went , or guay tiew sen yai. The woman tried to be helpful but when I didn’t want the available noodles was very short with me, and had not heard of pad see ew (Thai stir fried noodles) . But that’s okay, no big deal. Also one time when I bought something there I paid for it, then later it deposited that amount back into my account (not a pending charge , two full transactions debit then credit) and then later the next day took it out again. Never had that happen before , not the stores fault but just a warning if you’re gonna go big! Ultimately Seems like a good place to check out for your Asian food to make at home and snacks, so grateful to have a store like...
Read moreWhat a gem. Immaculate and beautiful - everything is so lovingly tended and curated. Everything was so fresh: freshly made bao and sticky rice, sesame mochi balls, and fully stocked fish and meat freezers. What was notable was a total lack of dust or sense that things sit around for a long time; everything was just so fresh and tended to. Drinks, snacks, sauces, pantry staples, everything! Love this place. Glad they had the sign out on Myrtle otherwise I would have had no idea it was there. Super friendly staff too. Coming back for...
