I am glad to see this is still a corner grocery store. My family owned this store from 1935 to 1970 (approximately) when it was called Gaucher's Market. Many generations grew up working here, running the register (often on credit, which is no longer done), delivering groceries to the neighborhood homes in our white van and providing the local community with the best fresh meats from our deli counter. If you grew up on "French Hill" you all knew Gaucher's Market. I still have a large book of matches from a Christmas promotion (which many businesses did back then as advertising), a pencil and the official seal bearing the store's name on them.
