TERRIBLE. BEWARE of bringing personal items to women's locker room and the owner. If you are looking to relax and be treated with kindness especially if a problem occurs, do not go here or do not bring in any personal items!!! The MAJOR problem was my locker was unlocked and my personal belongings were ransacked. Then owner, Tammy, was then very insulting. After spending close to $500 and a whole day (9-3p) unwinding, the relaxation turned to shock as I opened my LOCKED locker to find all of my clothing missing. After 15 minutes of trying to find management to get help, they blamed ME. HUH?!?The manager opened all the lockers and my things were shoved randomly into three separate lockers. Then a housekeeping lady came in and said she "found" my socks on the floor. It was obvious someone with the master key went through my belongings and haphazardly shoved them back into different lockers. Did they get busted going through my stuff and panic?! Probably. The manager let me know only she and the two housekeepers had master keys. she kept saying this has never happened. Later I find out it does happen frequently from the owner but she blames the clients. ??? They totally were like this couldn't have been their fault. I finally had to say that my locker was locked. Had been all day. I had all of my things hanging neatly. I looked at her told her directly that she had a staff issue. I had severe anxiety leaving (which was opposite of the plan here, hello!) My day of relaxation was ruined. Bonus was the fear of what was stolen from my wallet and how many banks/cards I had to alert afterward. Fun times. To heap insult to injury, I asked to speak to the owner. After two weeks of not connecting, we connected this evening. She started off by saying she was sorry I had trouble with the lockers and that she was made aware that I mistakenly put my things into three different lockers. Huh!?! After explaining to her that was not the case, she SERIOUSLY stated , Since you eventually found all of your belongings, I'm not sure why you are still upset. ARE YOU JOKING?! How about personal belongings and privacy violated after I spent almost 500 and a whole day at your business?? Her lack of customer service skills was shocking. She was condescending and asked me what would I like her to do. How about not blame me to kick off the conversation? How about profusely apologize for my purse, wallet, and clothing being ransacked? How about I'm sorry you had to call your bank and credit cards and that this caused such a flipping mess for you and that your day of relaxation was totally ruined by someone with a master key to the lockers....And how about you not lie? Your managers told me that both housekeeping ladies have master keys downstairs on them. You made up a huge lie that someone would have to come upstairs to your manager to get the master. How about if your customers get confused multiple times a month and place things in the wrong lockers, get new lockers?!?! How about you not call me hostile and upset after you just repeatedly insulted me?! Have to add in that when I said what do you think as the owner would be best here? She literally said, "well I usually call and apologize like I just did and offer to put a SMALL gift card on file." She emphasized small. It's laughable how terrible that phone call was. I just had to hang up because I was beyond tired of the insults at that point and very tired of her blaming me for the initial locker issues. She can take the very small gift card and...well, shove it. Unfortunately for Tammy and Escape, your reputation for protecting belongings and being kind to customers is RUINED. You had every opportunity to be polite and truly concerned over my downright scary and terrible experience. And you really still should be. You have a thief on staff. No one ransacks a locker for fun. Too many other great spas, massage therapists, nail salons, hair salons, and aestheticians in this awesome EVER-growing capitalistic town to bother with your unethical staff and your customer...
Read moreI was really excited to gift this spa experience to my sister. I wanted to spoil her for all her efforts in helping and supporting me during the last stretch of my first pregnancy.
I told her to book ahead just because I had never been to this spa and didn't know what to expect myself.
She booked online for 120 minutes. Then recieved a call the day of to set up a more definitive time to come in.
She arrived and was told that they only have time to give an hour massage after she was already undressed. She reluctantly agreed to the time change, even though she had requested 2 hours.
After her massage and coming time to pay, she finds out that they charge SIGNIFICANTLY MORE for an hour than they do a 120 minute!! When she confronted this fact, they didn't care, I am sure a gift card makes them less motivated to give adequate customer service... they said there was nothing they could do about it...
Guys. I am sorry, but if you book one thing and get told to come in at a certain time for that thing you booked, and then get told that they can do the service but for shorter time... it should have been expressed from the scheduler about the price change and should be given the option to rebook for what was originally wanted BEFORE she gets to the back. An extra 60 minutes can make all the difference in massage therapy. And with that said, my sister said the massage was just okay!!
I practically view this as a BAIT and SWITCH.
If they knew they only had hour slots, and led her to believe that she was getting 120 minutes when they scheduled the time for her to come in, they conned her into getting a service she originally didn't want, that was also more expensive ($155 for 60m vs $260 for 120m, in ratio to time/cost of service, not to mention, its not even the full time as they take the time for you to get ready and onto the table out of your massage time).
There wasn't any communication about the changes and then they pretty much shrugged her off when she realized what happened. The spas quick solution was to NOT TIP the THERAPIST and they mentioned that a couple times.... I wonder how the therapist would feel knowing that the spa they dedicate their energy to, throws them under the bus to take the finacial hit instead of them....
I am honestly so disappointed in escape day spa. There is an air of entitlement for a place that is supposed to provide relaxation and peace of mind but instead provides an incomplete experience that lacks refinement and connection with the client. I am a massage therapist/body worker myself and I am appalled by the treatment of customers that this "high end" spa gives. Additionally, for the people who lack resources but decide to invest in themselves by attending this day spa, it's a big deal to make sure that their experience is wonderful, WORTH THE MONEY and that they get what they want.
All of this could have been avoided by the receptionist scheduling the appointment. She didn't look at the original online service request before scheduling and confirming the appointment with the client. She also failed to state the length of service to the client upon check-in.
So, I end my complaint with, never will I ever suggest this spa to anyone whom I associate with. I get tons of referrals and when I am booked full (cause I actually care about clients and their needs), I refer them to this spa for the spa experience (one of my clients said they were decent and that they go to EDS when I am not available, so I went ahead and blindly marketed for them....) and then to a private practice of someone I trust for therapeutic work if thats what they are searching for....
Well, escape day spa is crossed off my list. There are smaller day spas out there that give better quality. I'll explore and suggest them personally for my...
Read moreThree of my girlfriends and I decided to have a much needed spa day. I get massages regularly at home and have an esthetician that I love but thought it would be nice to make a day of it with my girlfriends. I called to book the treatments 2 weeks in advance for all 4 of us (each wanting the same 3 treatments to keep it simple). I was asked to call back to speak to the group coordinator which I did. I spent almost an hour on the phone with her trying to coordinate the times for 4 of us to have the same treatments on a Monday 2 weeks out. She took my credit card # for an $800 deposit, all of our names and numbers and my email address to send me an itinerary. When I received the itinerary, the times had changed by half an hour- not a big deal. She then sent me an email 3 days later to say she had been trying to contact me to get my credit card number but was unable to leave a voicemail because my voicemail was full. I sent her an email back reminding her that I had given her my credit card number and my correct phone # because she had the wrong one. She confirmed both that she had run my card and that she had the wrong number.
When we arrived for our appointments, they had my name completely wrong in the system. As in a different person wrong. We were taken to a private locker room which was nice since there were 4 of us. We proceeded to get out treatments and were supposed to have 15 min in between which we planned on spending together and possibly enjoying a glass of champagne. I brought a bottle which I left in the locker room to be placed on ice and requested glasses. Not only did they never ice the bottle or bring glasses, the rest of our appointments spanning the course of 5 hours were completely at random and I never saw any of my friends again until the end of the day and they had been waiting 45 minutes for me to complete my treatments due to my timing being so far off. At one point, I was in the "relaxation room" not relaxing, instead concerned that I had been forgotten when one of the therapists kept coming in asking for one of my friends. My friend was nowhere in sight but there was another woman with a similar name who had been waiting sometime. They finally figured out they had switched the 2 people.
We all agreed the facial was the only treatment worth having. (Mine was done by Gail.) The rest were mediocre at best. I can't imagine the therapists are eager to come to work when their management is so poor.
Our $1600 day was far from what we had planned and hoped for. I was so disappointed in the spa and when called to speak to a manager, my call was never even returned. Major disappointment and will never...
