Heard the radio ads about how we could save money by switching our service to T-Mobile. My husband went to the store to setup an account. We both went to the store the following day. T-Mobile advertised that they would pay off my phone (up to $800),if we switched to T-Mobile. I traded in my phone which was 9 months old. I got a phone, my husband got a phone, and we got a tablet. I also purchased cell phone covers & glass protectors. We spent $176. Got home to find that there is zero T-Mobile service in Jonesville. My husband went back to the store the following morning to return everything. One of the employees told my husband that all of the employees knew that there’s no service where we lived. The employee working that morning said that knowing this that they would not have sold us any services. That same employee asked another employee (who had been in the store when we were there), why they didn’t speak up? The employee said, “I wasn’t in charge.” We were not given a refund because we were responsible for “restocking” fees. Nor would they return my original phone, because I had agreed to the phone trade. If you entered an agreement with me knowing that there is no service where I lived, then you are ethically responsible to return my property, however, the store manager refused to do this. I called T-Mobile customer service 3 times, each time I was promised that someone would return my call. No one ever returned my calls. We still owe AT&T $700 for a phone that T-Mobile refused to give me back. Between what we spent at T-Mobile, coupled with having to purchase a new phone, we are out $1,100.
