My wife and I eat at Mexican restaurants all over the southern us. We eat at Mexican restaurants a couple of times per week. We were in Natchez 7/24/2016, a city we are only somewhat familiar with. At lunch time we found ourselves near La Fiesta Grande, and noticed lots of people there, so we decided to try it. Parking was OK, when we went in a sign said wait to be seated, so we waited and waited finally having to stop someone going by to get seated. The building was average, the prices were some of the highest we had ever seen for Mexican food. The portions were small and I found, while chewing, hard pieces of pepper stems in my fajitas. In all the years of eating fajitas that was a first. Our waitress was friendly, but she forgot a couple of things, no big deal, but the meal was completely ruined by of all things the roaming Mexican guitarist, harmonica player and singer. He was so bad, I thought there must be a Candid Camera somewhere recording our reactions. His guitar was out of tune and buzzed with ever strum. I think he only knew two cords. The man could not sing, he was flat on almost every note. He sounded as bad as Alfalfa singing in a Little Rascals episode, if your old enough to know who that is. This sounds trivial but trying to eat while something that bad rang in our ears made us hurry and finish, just to get out. We were not expecting to be entertained and I know that Mexican restaurants often offer music like this, but there must be a little bit of a standard. On paper having a singer sounds nice, but if he is so bad it ruins your meal, maybe its not such a good idea. Can't recommend...
Read moreI have been here twice now since moving. I LOVE my Mexican food. The first time I came here I loved it! They have the BEST queso here. It has a tiny bit of kick from jalapeno juice that is added I think and it's fabulous. My meal was just as good. The place is clean and spaces well if that is a concern for you as it is for us. The servers here are super nice as well and constantly on the run. You won't be neglected here.
The only downside I have is for lunch the second time we went, I was a little disappointed in the taco salad. Now I love taco salads, it's nearly 50% of my orders. This one left me wanting a bit more in the flavor department and a bit less in the liquid section. The bottom of my taco shell was soggy and falling out by the time I got to it. I was also kind of surprised there was no rice or beans of any kind in it, but I have had this happen before so maybe it's just restaurants choice.
HOWEVER, that being said it wasn't ruined and it was still good, just a bit lacking I spices I have come to know and love in my taco salads. I still give this place a HUGE thumbs up and we will continue to pour our money into these Mexican dishes! My boyfriend got the taquitos and...
Read moreI would give this place no stars if I could!
This was our first time here, the service was good, the food was ok and the prices were reasonable or so we thought until we got the bill. I had ordered a chimichanga from the lunch menu that was supposed to be $8.5 but when the bill arrived we had been charged $10.5 and when we asked the sever about the price difference she said that the owners had been changing their prices on the computers and had not changed them on the menu. We said that that was false advertising and she agreed and told us that there had been several complaints about that but the owners didn't care and to top it off, if you are paying with a credit card you have to pay ann additional 4% on top of your bill. Like I told her there is a first and last time for everything and we will never be back!
To the owners of this establishment if you are going to change your prices DO IT SO THE CUSTOMER CAN SEE IT BEFORE THEY BUY IT! Perhaps I should change how much I want to pay AFTER I ORDER IT AND EAT IT!
All I can say is BUYER BEWARE...
