Summary We have bought appliances and furniture from various firms in cities large and small over the years, but Ivan Smith ranks at the very top of the list. Besides having an excellent stock of quality furniture and appliances, everyone associated with the store in Natchitoches, LA is extremely competent, professional, and personable. Prices are reasonable and as good if not better than competitors. Delivery was made on time, without incident. We were contacted via email and a phone call afterwards, to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Ivan Smith to anyone needing furniture, or major appliances.

(Detailed explanation follows) We recently went shopping for a dishwasher, kitchen range, and over-the-range microwave. After striking out at three other stores (didn't have what we wanted, might not get it even if ordered, could not provide a referral to an installer etc.), we ended up at Ivan Smith. We were promptly greeted by a very knowledgeable and affable sales representative, who helped us decide which make and model appliances would best meet our needs and budget. He went online, checked availability, and ordered them in the color we wanted. Three days later, the appliances we selected were delivered, by two cheerful and courteous gentlemen. (They promised delivery by 7:15 AM, and were there at 7:00 sharp.) The installer recommended by Ivan Smith was there half an hour later, and everything was installed and working properly three hours later. The packing materials for the new appliances, as well as the old appliances, were hauled off at no charge to us. Later that day, we received a followup email from Ivan Smith thanking us for our business, and asking if everything was OK. Furthermore, we also received a phone call the next business day, thanking us for our business, and asking us to let them know if there were any issues. I feel dirty from the experience. We moved to Natchitoches and paid what was asked for a washer / dryer and bed / boxspring. $3,259.25 Washer arrived in "drop kicked" condition. The $75 check Ivan Smith sent is simply condescending. They claimed the item was discounted at sale and so we should have expected a damaged product. Rubbish. Nonsense. Not at that price. If I wanted "scratch & dent" for a rental property then fine. Not at full asking price. This transaction was deceptive and outright sleazy and we will avoid buying anything further from Ivan Smith or the sister company Ashley for this house or the new one we're building. The staff at Ivan Smith in Natchitoches is truly committed to their customer’s satisfaction. My husband and I purchased a washer and dryer from them about 6 months ago and have had issues with the washing machine on multiple occasions (NO fault of Ivan Smith, this is a GE issue) and they’ve gone above and beyond to assist us with getting it replaced. Denise, Scott and Dane have all helped tremendously with getting our issue resolved, even though the malfunctions aren’t their fault. I’ve been less than pleasant to deal with throughout this ordeal but they’ve still remained friendly and professional, while fighting endlessly to get these repairs/replacements made.
