MUST VISIT! We stayed at Santa Rosa RV resort for 4 days and 5 nights. This was our first trip to this resort. It was my husband, myself, out 17 y/o and 2 dogs. We booked online with ease. We paid a little over $110.00 a night which we believed to be fair considering the location and amenities listed on the sight. Coming from the direction we came in they have a turning lane to turn in and a large sign to make it super easy to get into and spot. Check in was an absolute breeze, we came in on a Sunday and there was an envelope with out name in a basket it had a park map and out window tag for parking. Upon entering the first thing we notice was the beautiful grounds, the trees the plants and then the family common area which is just a wonderful little place. We drove to our sight which are easily marked on the decorative power poles. Driving to the sight you drive by the water into the bay area and pictures and words do not do it justice. It's beautiful. We got to our sight and realized we were on the 4th row and we thought we booked row 2. We were a little disappointed but after checking my confirmation the confirmation stated 4th row, so must have been an error on my part. We were at the end of the fourth row we were spot 29 so you could still see into the bay it was beautiful. We got set up, had a small issue with the power pole that the staff was more than happy to help with and send maintenance. After we got set up we headed to the bay and the pool, because it's Florida in July. We were setting up about 1. The pool area is super clean so many conversation areas to sit at. You can see the ocean from the Pool. The bay had some significant grass right at the shore line so not something we wanted to trample across day one. We spent some time in the pool and went to dinner. There are some great restaurants and deserts near by and a publix which makes it even more convenient. Location location location on this resort. You are close to everything and yet it's not overcrowded. The first night we realized why row 4 may not be the best choice for us- there is a wonderful afternoon/evening breeze that comes in and the 3rd and 4th rows do not get much if any of that breeze. It can feel very stuffy in the back. The noise on the road is not bad at all. It's expected and was not bothersome at all. The lack if airflow was less than optimal. We did ask everyday if they had anything open on the water side and offered to pay the difference. We were met with mixed responses some staff were super cool and nice about us asking some seemed less enthusiastic. No one was ever rude about it...maybe they got tired of me asking-never hurts to ask people cancel all the time on stuff. The park grounds were always clean and the bathroom and showers were clean. This place is amazing for families there were kids everywhere. I mean that in the best way. Kids could ride bikes, play on the pool, play in the bay, the common area, or on the playground area. The bay cleared up of most of the grass and we spent two days out there. It was awesome. Trash was picked up daily. Dogs really can have the best time here. They have a great enclosed fence for them to run and play in. Our site was close to the dog area so our dogs spent some time there. The pads are concrete to make setting up a breeze. The wifi was stable and great! There is vegetation all over the park it's green and some spots have some really nice shade. They do water at night some but it was never a nuisance. The bay beach line at low tide is just a wonderful walk. They also have a nice fishing or walking pier. At night looking across to Navarre is so beautiful-i told a couple sitting on a bench people have to see it for themselves. This is a must do park. We looked at other parks and this one honestly this one hits all the high places. **Pros-great atmosphere, clean, visually appealing, dog friendly, family friendly, clean pool, stunning views, concrete pads, water everywhere, close to food and shopping. **Cons- sites can be a little tight for larger setups...
Read moreA nice, albeit older, RV park that is land-locked by a lot of commercial businesses and a busy highway. The charm of the park lay in the row of pads that are next to the water (the bay) which provides a bit of a view from the back of a rig. There is really only one site that allows a full view of the water, and that was the site we were lucky enough to stay on. Interestingly, it's located right next to the dog park and an access point, so we had people walking through and in front of our area at all times of the day and night. Not something that bothered us a lot, but I certainly had a few moments where people's dogs pooped in front of our area and we waited to see that the owners were going to pick it up, which they did.
Aside from the big end site we had, the park is pretty crowded, with what seemed like minimal room for larger RVs and a tow vehicle to park, let alone provide outdoor space to sit and enjoy.
All in all, it's a fine place and can be a good home base for hopping in a car and heading out to the beach, but it's not a park that provides a lot of space to enjoy just being there on site. It's also located right on a very busy highway, so the noise, sirens, traffic, etc. are what they are. And there aren't sidewalks to leave the park and walk or bike anywhere - a car or truck is a must. Again, that is fine, so long as that is known when making a reservation.
Jinks, the manager, was kind enough to communicate with us and quickly opened the clubhouse during our visit, due to the torrential rain that was happening. The clubhouse had been closed for some reason, but she was quick to help provide a place for our kids to gather and play games, which we appreciated!
Overall, a park like this isn't our cup of tea, especially at this price point. We don't like being crowded and unable to walk or bike anywhere, and having to get in a car to do things, but again, so long as you know that going in, it's a fine place to stay with a clean pool and bathrooms, and is located very close to the beach. Try for the waterfront lots and...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 weeks in May. We had a waterfront site. In my opinion, if you don't have a waterfront site it's a completely different experience. There is always a breeze coming off of the water. It may be 90 out, but feels like it's about 75 temp. Just walking around the place I can see what other's are talking about. Very hot and humid and noisy if you aren't waterfront. We had bad storms the 2nd week of our stay. It was quite scarry. The wind here is something I've never experienced. All of our neighbors said the same thing! The high wind does get annoying! I wanted to swim or just put my chair in the water in front of our camper, but it was messy. Full of seaweed. Just not very appealing for sitting in the water. We had a little dog, and dogs aren't allowed on the beach, by the pool, or on the dock. We planned on fishing from the dock, but couldn't bring the dog. The beaches here don't allow dogs either. There is one, but it's an hour drive. We didn't bother. We pretty much just stayed at our campsite overlooking the water. There is a dog beach at this campground, but it's full of seaweed too. We never used it. We never went to the pool, so I have no opinion on that. We went out to eat several times. The food was very good! Many food trucks in the area. We frequented several! Wonderful tasty food! The road in front of the place is crazy busy! So many accidents with so much traffic. There is only one main road and everyone is on it! Overall our stay was ok. A very pretty resort, on the water, a tad bit expensive for being in such a busy area. The place fills up fast, so I don't know why they are so addemant on no refunds. As soon as an rv leaves, one comes right in! They stick to the rules with money. No refunds for late arrivals or...
