If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. We ordered food from here tonight 3/16/2018. I called in and the phone was answered just "Hello" (No for examples sake: Thank you for calling Peking House or Can I take your order?) I asked politely thinking maybe I had dialed the wrong number: Is this Peking House? And got a very rude "yea." I said "I'd like to make an order for carryout please" Their Response "o.k." Me: "Um Are you ready?" Again he responded with the "yea" I said "Could I please have etc..etc..etc.. thank you. Then he responded with an abrupt "O.K. BYE" I said "Excuse me just a second how long will it be?" And he actually said "I don't know a couple minutes." I responded "oh, ok, thank you."
Fast Forward....."A COUPLE MINUTES".....my husband (who was on his way home from work) walks in to pick up the order. There are 3 kids sitting at a table playing on their phones, and 2 cooks behind the counter. My husband said absolutely NO ONE Greeted him in any way or even looked up when he walked in...he got to the counter & one of the children gets up walks over and says "WHAT DO YOU WANT????" My husband aghast at such behavior, says "ummm...my wife called in an order for carryout" the kid reads the phone number off to my husband and hands him the food. There was No "Your Welcome", "Enjoy", "Please come Back"..... NOTHING......... My husband comes home walks in with the food & said "the people there were SO RUDE we are NEVER ordering there again"... and I said "oh my god really??? I thought it was just me" and then I explained to him how horribly rude my phone conversation was as well with whomever had answered the phone there.
The food has always been just mediocre at best like almost every restaurant in Navarre, but HORRENDOUS MANNERS/FORMALITIES THERE IS NO EXCUSE. If you are running ANY business customers are what keep it going. I'm not looking for perfection.... but come on.... AT THE VERY LEAST YOU CAN ALWAYS TREAT PEOPLE WITH DECENCY AND SOME RESPECT. YOU LOST OUR BUSINESS FOR GOOD ...
Read moreThe new management here is wonderful and the inside has improved a lot. It feels more welcoming and the new people here are all very nice. I really love the new set up and of course, the food here is absolutely the best. If you're looking for some really good Chinese food, Peking House is it!!
Update!! On behalf of Peking House, I would like to say for all Grubhub orders they can't make the food until the driver comes and pay for it and here's why. Many Grubhub drivers like to call ahead and place the order so it's more efficient for them, they just have to pay for the food and go deliver it, HOWEVER there are MANY incidents where the card they use declines resulting in the cancelation of the order when the food has been already made that proceeds to end up in the trash and wasted. When you pay to Grubhub for your order, the drivers have a Grubhub card in which they bring to the restaurant and pay to the restaurant. If the the company (Grubhub) card declines, Peking House cant give the driver your order since the restaurant did not get paid for the order. They can't do anything about that. It is NOT Peking House's fault that some Grubhub driver's card keep declining, this a problem with the Grubhub company and their cards. I sincerely apologize on behalf of Peking House if your order got canceled because Grubhub driver's card for some reason kept declining. Please understand the situation before...
Read moreHello Kaiya, as owner of Peking House I would like to apologize on behalf of the employees. However, I would like to state that after this situation occured, I checked the cameras and most of what you're saying is not true. There may have been a misunderstanding on the item you ordered, the employee may not have heard you say beef with broccoli and just heard you say broccoli. I apologize for that. From my understanding though, the only issue you had was that your order did not have beef in it so it's disagreeable for you to say "there's bugs everywhere" and that "the food is either not cooked or overcooked". Also, we did not charge you a $2 fine for telling us to give you a refund. When you changed your order from Sesame Chicken to Broccoli, it was $2 less so the cashier gave you $2 back in cash. When you wanted a refund for the order, we gave you your total amount back on your card but the $2 we asked from you was from when we gave you $2 in cash so we did not charge you a fine. The manager did not laugh at you nor told you to get out, we have camera proof. I care about what customers think but I also care about my employees. I'm sorry you had a...
