So I am from Greensboro, NC and love me some sushi. I have had some mediocre sushi and while I am critical, I can still eat it and like it. However, ordering from this place...I actually didn't finish the sushi cause it was so bad. I didn't order specialty rolls or anything. I ordered the maki special (two rolls for $9). I got two salmon cucumber rolls topped with crab salad. They said it would be an additional $4...for each. After tasting the sushi I was blown away from how terrible it was. The rice tasted old like it was from 2 days ago and the salmon looked and even smelled bad. The crab salad was probably the worst I have ever seen or tasted. I could have gotten better quality rolls inside a packaged container from Harris Teeter or Publix. I have only ever been charged $2 max for crab salad on a roll and it was 10x the quality that this place made. I got my daughter the kids chk fried rice and even the chicken was terrible quality and tasted hard and old. The rice was just how someone said, "dont get unless you're really hungry." Maybe their hibachi and actual dishes are better but I do not recommend their sushi whatsoever. This is by far the worst sushi I have had and I do mean that literally and have been to many sushi places. I suggest Little Mermaid for sushi and any fried rice with a protein added. Located not far down the road passed Navarre beach towards Mcdonalds/Walmart on the right if youre coming from Oishi. I have also never felt inclined to write a review on here but I believe in saving people from wasting money on such terrible...
Read moreI don’t like leaving bad reviews for places food I really enjoy. BUT. Tonight was my last chance for Oishi and the staff. Over the past year my order has been wrong at least 7 times. Also I have had to wait for placed orders for over an hour after placing them way ahead of time. My husband picked up our food and it was the wrong order AGAIN. The lady actually called me to tell me that I grabbed the wrong food. ME. Uh I’m pretty sure she handed the order to my husband after reading the items in the bag. Should we have checked the bag? Probably. After so many wrong orders it would have been the logical thing. But honestly I shouldn’t have to check to make sure I have the right order. I won’t be coming back to Oishi. I’ll give my business to Slippery Mermaid. The staff does not care nor do they understand when you explain you’re frustrated. When I have to waste gas to go pick up a order THEY MESSED UP. I wanted to talk to a manager but I don’t think there is one ever present. Very disappointed in this restaurant. As a local business they should be working hard to earn our business. But they haven’t changed in a year since we moved here they won’t be changing any time soon. I love their food but I hate their customer service. If a manager wants to chit chat I’m more than happy to hear them out. Sorry Oishi you’re not worth the...
Read moreImagine,
A Thursday night in Navarre. You get down to the beach to check-in at your place and it happens to be really close to 9 and you’re super hungry. You cut out of the parking lot in search of something that’s open and find a Jersey Mike’s that seems to be open for just a few more minutes. You walk up to the door and get an immediate eye-roll response with a half-driven thumbs up when you give a thumbs up/thumbs down gesture to see if they are still open to serve customers.
Instead of walking in to Jersey Mike’s, you wave them off and go to the business right next door— Oishi.
Jasmyne at Oishi welcomed us with a warm greeting and smile and told us to sit anywhere. Mind you, it’s 25-30 minutes til closing time and they seemed to be as eager as if we were the first guests of the day.
We sat down. I got the Chicken fried rice and my significant other got the green river roll with a snow crab salad. It was phenomenal. Taste, atmosphere, and customer service all nailed to a T. We ate, enjoyed our time, paid our check and left happy and full. Jersey Mike’s and every other surrounding business that closes from 9-9:30 on weeknights: TAKE NOTE!
Well done Oishi...
