Tucked away on a quiet street corner, this small Indian restaurant is a true hidden gem that radiates warmth, flavor, and heart. From the moment you step through the door, you’re welcomed with the aroma of fresh spices and the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like family. The ambiance is cozy and colorful, with traditional Indian décor touches that transport you to another world without overwhelming the senses. What makes this place special isn’t just the food — though that alone is worth the visit — it’s the passion that clearly goes into every detail. The menu is a curated journey through India’s diverse culinary landscape, offering both classic favorites and delightful surprises. The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, while the vegetarian thali is a beautiful, satisfying medley of flavors. Even the humble dal feels elevated — slow-cooked, deeply comforting, and generously portioned. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. The owner often steps out to greet guests personally, sharing stories behind the recipes or offering suggestions with a smile. You can tell this place is built on love and a desire to serve. What’s truly inspiring is how this little restaurant manages to shine so brightly amid larger competitors. It reminds you that you don’t need a big space or flashy marketing to succeed — just good food, good people, and a lot of heart. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, every visit leaves you with a full belly and a fuller heart. This restaurant doesn’t just serve meals — it serves joy, one plate at a time. A shining example of small business magic, it’s the kind of place that turns first-time visitors into lifelong fans.

Monsoon is a great surprise and a most welcome addition to Indian dining options in the area. The food is delicious, the shop is sparkling clean, the staff is pleasant, and it is a good value, too. We ordered Chicken Tikka Marsala and Chicken Saag at lunch. The spice level was just right and the chicken was fresh and properly cooked. Our side order of vegetable samosas came with two pieces and three condiment side dishes. Technical analysis: fresh, crisp, and yummy. Try them. The shop is designed for takeout but there is a pleasant counter along the window if you want to sit down. The door opens directly to the sidewalk, so fine for handicapped diners. There is parking in the mall, but also across the street. So, even though the mall is busy parking is fine. Vegetarians would be very happy at Monsoon, and children would like it too.

After trying multiple dishes at this restaurant since opening, we finally decided to write a review — unfortunately, because today’s experience was deeply disappointing. Every bite served as a reminder of the mistake we made in choosing this place to ruin our Saturday evening. The Paneer Tikka Masala was particularly awful — it tasted like it came straight from a can. Overly salty, unnaturally bright red in color, and left an aftertaste worse than raw garlic. It was inedible, and frankly, unacceptable. We don’t recommend this place and certainly won’t be returning.

Monsoon Indian Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with a perfect blend of authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and a cozy ambiance. From the moment you step in, the inviting aroma of spices sets the stage for a delightful meal.

The menu boasts a great variety of classic Indian dishes, from rich and creamy Butter Chicken to flavorful Lamb Rogan Josh and perfectly spiced Vegetable Biryani. The garlic naan was fresh and fluffy, perfect for soaking up the delicious curries.

Service was attentive and friendly, with the staff eager to offer recommendations based on our preferences. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented.

The ambiance is modern yet retains a traditional touch, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Overall, Monsoon Indian is a must-visit for Indian food lovers, offering an authentic and satisfying experience. Highly recommend trying their Mango Lassi and Tandoori Platter for a complete...

So happy to have a GREAT Indian restaurant close by for take out. I usually go to Waltham because the Indian restaurants in Newton, arent that great, in my opinion. However where I live in Newton, with traffic, Waltham is a trek for take out. Having a great Indian restaurant for take out close by has been a great find! We had chicken curry, vegetable pakaora, mango lassi, and poori bread. All were very good. Too often I find Indian restaurants rely heavily on white meat chicken in all their dishes like Tikki Masala or chicken curry, it's tough and tasteless. Monsoon uses dark meat in the chicken curry and it is very good. I ordered medium for spice level, next time I will go mild. The medium still had too much kick to it, but it was still very enjoyable. The mango lassi helped with the heat!! We have been twice and will return. Very Friendly staff. VERY good portions for the money. Easy to get to and park. Clean....
