Thirty years ago, it seemed like there were shops like Needham Press on every other corner. Nowadays, with so much scanning, printing and design power on our office/home computers (not to mention all those mail-order business card outfits with big TV advertising budgets), it's tempting to say "who needs a local print shop?"
Turns out, we do. For despite all that technology at our finger tips, sometimes what we really need is a human being who can solve our problems. That's what I found at Needham Press. I had a seemingly simple need (I'll spare you the boring details) but it sure didn't look that complicated. Nevertheless, it could not be addressed by the half-dozen other shops I called and visited. (One tried gamely, but actually made my problem worse.)
A few blocks down Chestnut Street is Needham's iconic Harvey's Hardware, a place where they carry hard-to-find parts in stock and take the time to understand your problem and help you solve it. The best way I can describe Needham Press is that they are the Harvey's Hardware of printing!
