So I'm just going to come outright and say it. I LOVE WORKING FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I started working a few weeks ago as a dishwasher and the work is great. My colleagues are fascinating individuals who work very hard to ensure the absolute best in quality service and elegant cuisine. The food smells amazing and I often find myself salivating as I smell the cooks at work. Ed and Lynn are by far the absolute best employers I've had thus far, which it stands to reason as quite a few of their employees have been working there for many years and seem content to remain. They are the best restaurant I've seen in New Castle and the public seems to agree. Most nights are busy and I revel in the workload. I feel a sense of purpose despite not working more closely with the customers, and despite this I still feel amazed each and every day by the opportunity to be put to use. Sitting at home I often feel the urge to just go in to ask If I can help, even though I know I can't unless I'm on the clock. All in all Edward's deserves 10 stars, no. 100 brightly shining stars. I hope to continue to do great work for them and I encourage all of you to keep coming back to eat, drink, and enjoy the revelries thst Edward's has to offer. Two out of three entrees unsatisfactory. Ordered a fish & chicken selection off their daily special menu and neither one was very tasty and weren't served hot. The steak sandwich off their regular menu was absolutely delicious. It was served with a side of garlic sauce which was right up our alley! The onion soup was not a rich dark broth that I'm used to, rather bland. The salad was a nice blend of tender baby greens and the dressing very tasty. Service was poor. Took 1 1/4 hr to receive our dinners. Refilled our tea & coffee just once & never brought us the last refill we requested. Food wasn't hot but don't know who's fault that was. Decor was very nice & comfortable in subtle woods. The menu was extensive. We'd give it another try and make sure we don't have the same waiter!! We should've informed our waiter of the cold entrees but just wanted to leave as we'd been there too long at this point already. Next time we'll address the parties the owner provided me with. 3 1/2 Stars... MISTAKES HAPPEN, PERFECTION DOESN'T EXIST, but Food was hot, fresh and tasty.
Waitress was good but not great--4 adults, 1 two-year old ...& she brings out the toddler's meal last which needed to be returned because it was not as ordered. :/ Waitress needs to be more attentive to 'all' her tables as a collective whole. Overall, she was friendly, polite, smiled 😁 & kept her teeth+hands clean!!!
Will Go Back Again for wings, a sandwich, and, or a pasta dish.
Shrimp Pasta alfreado dish needs a lil work; tasty but slightlyyy overcooked med. shrmip, sauce lacked that 'wow' flavor (needs more cream, milk based ingredients, more clarified butter, and FRESH HERBS and spices, etc... score 2.8 of 5 stars.)
Wing meat 4.1/4.2 of 5 stars.
Wing sauces Cattleman's 4.4 of 5 stars, Hot Strawberry, 4.1 of 5 stars, BBQ 3.9 of 5 stars. *Served with Plenty of sauce!
