I cannot comment on the quality of exhibits or courses taught at the Hoyt; however, my review is based on the business practices, communication and refund practices. I signed up for a course with my spouse to begin mid September 2020 and immediately paid via credit card ($260 total) and the Hoyt immediately charged my credit card. Two weeks ago, someone from the Hoyt called me to advise they cancelled that course because the instructor was uncomfortable due to COVID-19. I waited two weeks for a check, per the instructions I received as they supposedly could not refund via credit card. After no response, I emailed the Hoyt through their website about the status of the refund. Three days later, still no response. I called and was informed "it takes the lady awhile to process refund checks." The lack of communication and inability to timely process refunds is inexcusable. Read moreThe Hoyt LOVES kids. They offer FREE after school arts, FREE kids art festival and FREE crafts at community festivals and gatherings. They also host summer camps, work shops and classes for kids. They also offer classes and workshops for teens and adults too. My child absolutely loves the Hoyt and participates in the after school program, their festival and summer camp. I've enjoyed it since I was child as they've been inspiring children for decades. The community's support is lacking to say the least though, so I encourage you to stop by the Hoyt, browse their gift shop or sign up for a class! There is so much more to the Hoyt but it's truly worth it to see...

Featured exhibits change throughout the year. The one I was present for has a really neat steampunk feel. The gift shop is small, but has a few nice local products and snacks. Even the bathroom is original and was very interesting. There is a program run through the Hoyt for children to attend art classes, which I think is a great opportunity, especially with some schools cutting out art. The Hoyt is...
