Hello
My name is Vitalina and I am writing to you with concerns of patient care at your facility, my best friends elderly father was involved in a very bad car accident recently, went through trauma and massive surgery and is now at your facility. She visits her father everyday and myself accompany her. The experience we have seen is enough to involve the board of health, her father is constantly neglected, she leaves work to go to your facility to do what the staff are suppose to be doing, taking care of her father, the gentlemen is constantly found in his own bodily waste, they wonāt even open his blinds to let some sunlight in, he had the same pad and socks for a few days no one changes nor helped him until his daughter notifies them. He is suppose to have PT/OT yet no improvement, he has lost his confidence there and feeling ashamed of himself. How is he suppose to get better if staff cannot help him, wonder what Mr Daniel Straus thinks of the facility he developed that is suppose to help these people rehabilitate, who have already been through so much, massive injuries, this gentlemen is being treated like a animal rather then a human, left in his own bodily fluid, in the dark. No one answers his call light when he is in pain asking for help, they place the call light out of reach, his daughter reached out to the director whom told her if she doesnāt like it she should discharge her father even though he is in a REHAB to get better. Iām confused as to what the facility is and have done to help these people. The Employees have no compassion for the patients. Makes you wonder if Mr Straus is really compassionate or money driven?
āMessage from Daniel E. Straus
It is so gratifying to be a part of this , energetic and caring company ā a team that strives each and every day to meet the highest standards of safety, care and services for our residents.
Our facilities offer a level of care that reassures the families of our residents that their loved ones are benefiting from focused, empathetic support that maximizes dignity and quality of life.
Residents live in an environment in which their needs are met by thoughtful, engaged and focused staff members who make residents their top priority. Indeed, it is the can-do spirit of our highly dedicated staff that infuses our entire enterpriseā Iām puzzled by the amount of health violations. What are the numbers of patients that are actually discharged and doing well? They are taking away their confidence in themselves making them feel worthless, because of their sickness. This gentleman should not have to feel neglected, or helpless, they stated there is a language barrier, because of a language barrier? He should feel cared for and confident to get better like Mr Straus indicated, instead you place his call light somewhere he cannot reach, refuse to properly clean this gentleman, rotate him from getting bed sores. The staff told his family they canāt understand him, his accent is too strong, Why are the insurance companies paying this facility to care for their clients? I work in the medical field and my organization would NEVER. And that is why we remain the number one facility that care, love and make people better. Thankful we do not tolerate these type of behavior towards our patients. Our family have reached out to management, yet nothing is being done, the next step is to contact city officials, the things done in your facility is down right illegal. Please go over with your staff what your facility is about, as quoted from your founder,ā to care for people with compassionā. This simple act of kindness seems to have lost its way there and need to be reinstated for the sake of those poor patient that are unable to speak up for...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy cousin and I were recently challenged to find long term care for my 93 year old uncle just 6 weeks after the passing of his wife. We toured numerous facilities but Care One stood out as head and shoulders above the rest. It is deceptively understated compared to many of the other better known facilities but our decision to place our Uncle at Care One was a simple one after meeting with the staff and touring his would be room .
Let me start off by saying you will not find a more compassionate staff . Audrey, the Unit Manager is nothing short of an angel . Her patience , compassion, and patient centric approach is second to none. She made this heart wrenching process a seamless one for our family. And then there's Joanna , the Admissions Director, who systematically mapped out an admission plan at a pace that was comfortable for the family but necessary for my aging Uncle . No pressure, no phone calls, no stress- just concern and guidance, holding our hand through the maze of admissions paperwork and formalities. And on the 1st night night of my Uncles admission , she went above and beyond to call me on my cell phone and provide me with an update of his progress. Finally, Alisha (sorry in advance for the potential misspelling ) was our very 1st point of contact and our TRUE MVP ! On the day that my cousin and I showed up unannounced to "scope out" the facility . Alisha made herself available to us , as she not only provided us with an in depth tour but with a great degree of transparency she spoke about the pluses and minuses, strengths and weaknesses of the Care One facility. As a family we are blessed to have found a caring team that is so committed to the population they serve.
From a comfort perspective, the rooms are super spacious with built in shelves and drawers and a lot of light. It creates the environment of "home" away from home under the saddest of circumstances . The entire floorplan at Care One is hardwood versus traditional carpet , this eliminates the nursing home urine smell that was prevalent with other care facilities we toured .
The patients/residents really seem to enjoy the "snack carts" that deliver cookies or sweet bread twice daily . As a music lover, I sense that my Uncle will integrate into the Care One community as they offer entertainment options 2-3 times per week in addition to other activities.
On the day of my Uncle's admission , my cousin and I felt a range of complex emotions - guilt, stress, anxiety, sadness, etc.. - The Care One team did a great job of reassuring us they will follow in our family footsteps to ensure his safety, well being, and happiness. Our overall experience with Care One ...
