If you walk in here and end up with a man, RUN. Had gels removed and he almost took off my actual nail. He was careless, and dirty. While touching my feet he put his hand in the sugar scrub bottle repatedly (instead of using a spoon to scoop it out) and he had a bunch of nail residue on his sweater, it was digusting. Not to mention that he didn't even fully remove my nail polish and painted over it. There was a huge smudge he was going to just leave and when I pointed it out he used oil or something to smudge it with his finger. At that point I cancelled my mani.
Thi VU was the only one who was willing to admit the man is horrible-- she repeatedly apologized and my mom really enjoyed her pedi with her. I was surpsied when we were charged the same price for each pedi (since my mom had a completely different/extensive service compared to me I assumed she upgraded). The manager (Han Ly) then came up and was not sympathetic at all and offered an insulting 5 dollars off claiming he "forgot" to add parts of the service. What was more problematic was her totally ignoring the fact that the electric nail file hit my real nail . Frankly, I was shocked at her tone/response. There is no way she doesn't know how bad that man is at doing nails. Afterall, they all heard me scream when he was removing my gels (and he screamed back!)
Generally the place was really dirty and outdated. Aside from Thi Vu, who seems really sweet, it was really unpleasant experience. I have multiple other compliants, but I'll stop here. Go elsewhere and avoid the man. Very confused how this place is still in business
Editing to respond to owner: you still charged me full for gel removal, despite clearly noticing there was polish still there. That is why I am warning customers not to go to you. I had a horrible experience, and I felt the 5 dollars off was insulting. It wasn't about the money, it was about the total lack of respect for your customers and making me feel like I was in the wrong when that man 1) did a poor job 2) cut things out of my service 3) literally injured me due to his carelessness and 4) was dirty. I was visibly uncomfortable the whole time.
I was not offered a different nail tech, but instead told if I came back I would not get the man anymore. To be clear, I will not be coming back. My mom and I are looking for a salon to go to every 3 weeks by her house-- you lost what would have been two reliable customers.
Also, you may have glanced at my toes and determined they look "fine" but allow me to clarify-- my toes have paint on my skin, are not painted on the tops of the nail, are smudged, and he also chose a completely different color than I selected. I feel like an 8 year old painted my toes. I didn't expect perfection, and understand people make mistakes, but this man made too many, and your manager's attitude reinforced that this nail salon has serious problems. You knew he was awful. I had been coming here for 4 years (3 times each year) and getting gel French pedicure only. Never had an issue until today. The lady that was working on my toes could not do a French at all, she tried two times and it was uneven and terrible. So an older lady stopped what she was doing and then came over to try and do the same thing, she had to refill everything because even my toes were uneven, she was showing the gal how to hold the file and how to file nails. One nail was perfect the rest were uneven and sloppy. She told me she couldnāt do it because my toes were too small and ābumpy.ā AGAIN, I NEVER had an issue with having a French gel done on my toes UNTIL today. Then I was charged for a gel color which I ended up doing CLEAR because the two people could not do a French polish. Terrible, disappointing, I donāt do much at all for myself! But I try to take the time to do my toes. And the way that they treated me because they are hungry for money is terrible!! With the reviews that are coming in, sadly this place is going to lose a lot of business. I donāt get a discount off of anything, and it is my fault because of have āsmall,ā ābumpyā toes, or maybe they have no idea what they are doing?? As I stated before I have been coming here for 4 years NEVER had an issue with a French gel polish. Responding to owner. It does not cost 40.00 + 50.00 for the gel pedicure. Again coming there more then one time and Iāve never paid 95.00 for my pedicure Iāve paid 55.00 she discounted me 5.00. The Second Lady stopped with the manicure yes, but if she had been doing nails for 20 years. That isnāt to be proud of her French was uneven and just as sloppy as the First Lady. She then told me my nails were ābumpyā and that is why she couldnāt go a French pedicure. It is not the point of a free service, it is having the knowledge and skill and after ā20ā years she should be able to do French with her eyes closed! You advertise that you are wanting to be so helpful to accommodate but you are not and you donāt. In the 4 years Iāve come 3 times a year. And each time Iāve had the same gal or the quiet gentleman. First while getting a pedicure one technician loudly screamed to the whole shop how she couldnāt do my feet because of blood. It was we not blood. It was red nail polish SHE had not completely removed.
Then when getting my hands done- I requested regular acrylic. The technician refused and used a more expensive powder as she also insisted her selection was better. The technician literally refused to apply the nail color I requested. She continued to insist hers was a better selection.
After going back and forth of me repeating what I wanted and the technician flat out ignoring me, she called over her coworkers and began to berate me. It was as if she was hoping to intimidate me into stop saying what I wanted and letting her apply whatever SHE wanted. At one point she told me how upset she was to be doing my nails because it was taking too long and she couldnāt believe I would take this much of her time.
By the end of the service - my bill was near $150 while the services I requested were close to $60. This was from all the upgrades the technician applied that I flat out told her NOT to apply. To be noted - during the time I was there, I watched 3 different clients come back or call back to also report they got services they didnāt request and wanted refunds. It seems this unethical behavior is a trend at this salon.
At the end, I said āIām very disappointed with this time here. You have been extremely rude to me.ā This would be a great time for the tech to have apologized. Instead she responded āIām not rude. You just donāt know how to pick good things for your hands.ā
