Okay, I stopped in around 7:30 am primarily to do the bottle redemption just to clear up some space in my household & bag, then decided I should probably use the bathroom before I journey elsewhere. Just to ensure no bathroom accidents. The Hispanic Mexican/Venezuelan cashier was as pleasant as one would expect this early in the morning on a Sunday Funday. Kinda of acted like I had some kind of germ which I paid no mind to, but I did notice it and thought I would mention it. I went out of my way to say good morning, to whom I believe was the handsome male supervisor/ manager, not that I needed any further assistance that the cashier hadn't all ready provided, but the acknowledgment would've been nice. The bathroom was clean, so I thanked them so much for that piece of mind. However, they had no usable soap for me to use as the one that they had there beside the sink was not operable, at least not for me it wasn't. There was also like some weird crowd control apparatus. I guess they stored inside that restroom, which I would thought was a weird place to have in a bathroom. I don't know, I didn't like that for my taste. There had also been another young lady there, She provided some hand sanitizer for me once I explained that the soap in there was not working. I appreciate it but I was expecting something that required water to wash off. Slightly picky I guess. I did not venture too far into the store as I was only there to do the bottle redemption and use the rest room & be on my way, the store did look clean from what my eyes were able to gather. Umm, yeah, I would stop in another time to gather some hair products I saw that caught my eye right across from where the...
Read moreWho needs to go grocery shopping? You do! Wow! Wow! Groceries for days, weeks, for months International fruits and vegetables for days, that Caribbean flavor that makes you smile from saw to ear. Whatever you are looking for, this CTown in New Britain has it. Yes, a variety of meat, including beef and steak. Also, seafood, hot food, and deli selections. No stressful shopping, no rushing, no disappointment because the shelves are depleted of your favorite or even much needed selections. This store has what you are looking for. It was busy, no crowds, every one shopping with ease. Hardworking clerks and cashiers. During my shopping experiences at even the bigger stores, including the warehouse club stores, none can beat my shopping experience at CTown. I found regular sized maxi pads for a friend, liquid hand soap, and toilet paper. There are fruits and vegetables and other items that you can't get from traditional grocery stores, not even Walmart. Like, Jamaican yellow game, coco blanco, chicken gizzards, and turkey necks. Huge selections of meat choices and cuts! This is worth the almost 30 minute drive from New Haven to New Britain to do shopping. AND, there is a plastic bottle redemption machine located outside, right side near the front entrance Thank you CTown workers for the professional superior service, and for having a clean, and well stocked supermarket. You are appreciated....
Read moreI shop here almost daily. Always going to get milk, eggs or whatever we need. And always do our monthly big shopping here too. We also buy diapers and house supplies here and formula as well. Food is usually fresh, sometimes the fruit is starting to go bad, veggies as well. Meat is always fresh. Good selection, some items I like are missing but good for the most part. The downfall are the cashiers. The women are for the most part extremely rude, and so obvious about it. They roll their eyes, they give horrible looks, they speak to you like you are incompetent. Sometimes I use foodstamps or WIC here and they have made snide comments about that. Make me feel less than for using those services which is honestly really inappropriate. Their job is to serve customers and when they act this way it makes me want to shop elsewhere. I live in between Dollar General and CTown and have been contemplating doing back to Dollar General for small things during the month and only going to CTown monthly for our big shopping. Management should really have a talk with the cashiers about their attitude and also tell them that some of us understand Spanish and the ones that speak it to say rude things, me and my fiance hear what they say. There is one cashier who is wonderful though and whenever she is working we make it a point to check...
