Extra Space Storage — Local services in New Britain

I cannot believe that I would say this...what a beautiful self-storage facility? LOL. Brand new facility (former Walmart). Just reserved two 10x-30 spaces. From the moment I made the reservation, to the follow-up service from Bill (the GM) and answering all of my questions and facilitating to help out the difficult needs that I had in ensuring that my disabled father would be able to access the spaces without any complication of stairs, narrow pathways, quick access to a restroom, access hours, etc. Bill exemplifies what it is for someone who really has a passion for his work - a commensurate professional. I am so glad that I chose this location for the rental needs that we have and feel ever so confident in the service that we are getting. Most of the time, you are lucky if you get a storage unit that does not have critters, creepy crawlies, feels chilly and just damp....not this one. Temperature control, and the feeling that you just took a dip in the newness pool. Great work to the Extra Space Team. This was our first time using a storage facility, and the experience couldn’t have been better! Being so close to home made it incredibly convenient to access our belongings whenever needed. Bill was a lifesaver—he worked with us during tough times when prices increased, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his understanding and flexibility.

When it came time to move out, Liz made the process seamless and even pleasantly surprising! The storage space itself was always clean, well-maintained, and stocked with carts, which made everything so much easier. We stored our items for almost two years and always felt confident that everything was safe and secure.

A huge shoutout to the crew for keeping everything organized and accessible. If we ever need storage again, we’ll absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for reliable, clean, and supportive storage services!

The only reason I give them a 2 is that the gentleman work was polite. I am very unsatisfied with my experience with this storage unit! Do not recommend for the lack of willingness to simply care about the customer. I had 2 storage units in 2 different locations. I was told by my father to condense the 2 into one and why not try out extra space! Worst decision I made. My father and I rented the storage units 1 month apart my father pays 95 a month and I pay 180 for the same size storage unit!! Both very close to each other. I pay more for this one unit as I would if I kept paying the 2 units separately which were more square footage! Not worth it go somewhere cheaper where month to month the rates don’t double! (Like the one on the way to plainville, regret that...
