Village hardware — Local services in New Fairfield

I try to avoid this hardware store at all costs. The person who is usually at the counter is probably the most unpleasant retail person I've ever come across. He clearly conveys annoyance when you ask for something. Ask for a certain type of screw and he will grill you with questions in a very annoyed and unfriendly tone, and if you don't answer quickly enough he doubles down on the annoyance. Every time I go in there I feel like I am intruding and bothering them. They do absolutely nothing to warrant my business, so I only go in when I need something quickly. Great shop and they seem to have everything within the small, simple or odds and ends needs and it's right in town! Saves a trip to Danbury every time!

The prices aren't the cheapest, but it's tough as a small local business to stay alive when everyone is willing to take the drive to Lowes or Home Depot. They have to make up the difference in cost to local convenience and that's fair.
