The best place to buy jewelry in CT. It’s been almost a year since I’ve made a purchase there and the gold piece of jewelry I bought is still looking like the day I bought it. When I walked in for the first time it was welcoming. The lighting was perfect and it shined off of all the amazing jewelry they had and it wasn’t a bright lighting, it was a fine lighting that was perfect for the environment. I was then greeted by Kathleen who was able to help me with my purchase. I told her what I was looking for and what I wanted. She was able to have a custom piece made for me. Once I agreed that it was indeed what I wanted, I put down a deposit and she said she would call in about 2-3 weeks when it was ready to be picked up. Exactly 3 weeks later I received a call. When I arrived I was welcomed again by Kathleen and the owner, David. They presented me with the box and opened it and it was exactly what I wanted and expected. Everything turned out perfectly. David included a free polishing cloth and polish with my purchase which was very kind because I’m sure that goes for an extra charge. After inheriting some estate jewelry, we found the pieces where very nice and interesting, not to mention of family value, but so worn and broken that I couldn’t even wear them if I wanted to. I knew of the American Diamond Exchange (ADE) on Whalley Avenue and have visited for ring cleanings so decided to see what they could do for repairs. I brought one ring in that was scratched, too small and dirty for assessing. Allie, the goldsmith, has a fully stocked repair shop for just about any job including plating, enlarging, repairs, buffing, etc. She examined the ring and provided details of what she would need to do to get it back to usable condition. At first I thought she would polish up scratches and all, enlarge for my ring size and return to me looking a little better. Allie said it would take about 6 weeks which was fine as I was not in any hurry. I was amazed when I got it back how new the ring looked. Scratches gone, polished to mirror finish diamond shiny and no sign of repairs whatsoever – looked brand new. I couldn’t believe how it looked. This was the best experience! From Kathleen’s greeting all the way to Alleys finished piece. My fiancé and I had a ring we wanted to remove smaller center stones of a beautiful princess halo and had no idea if that was even possible. Alley took the time to sit with Zack and I to go over all the possibilities by measuring and telling us exactly what size diamond to get, what the crowns and heights might be and what to consider (at no cost might I add). Once we found the perfect diamond, Alley verified our online purchase and took down all my detailed requests. She went so far as to draw out sketches, take magnified pictures and just really took the time to explain all of this so thoroughly which was so extremely helpful. If you aren’t impressed yet, get ready. I had a time frame of 2 weeks, not knowing if that would be a possibility either. We paid a very reasonable price to have it rushed. Alley ORDERED our crown on Wednesday and the ring was totally COMPLETE Friday morning, ready to be picked up. Less than two days for the entire process. It is more perfect than I even imagined.
