THIS WILL BE LENGTHY. I was told if I came they would be ready. They wasn’t. The owner started my hair and did about 4 braids then stopped. All of a sudden I look back and this lady came behind me and I said “umm are you taking over or something?” She started my hair. She had a big paddle brush and started brushing my hair so rough I still have a headache. I’m a stylist myself.. your supposed to start from the bottom to detangle first! (And no I don’t have 4c hair.) anyway she braided slow and I told them medium/large knotless braids. I still got small. Then she didn’t want me to help braid my hair down but was fine with her 10yr old daughter braiding it down (guessed age) and she also passed the hair. A client came in for a crochet and she asked if I mind if she cornrows her hair I said fine because she said I’d be fast and I was freezing in there so her daughter braided some braids down then I ran to dunkin up the st. Came back and the lady was doing the client hair ! Not just braiding but doing a crochet style. Now I was waiting. Smh. Finally got back in the chair and the comb she was using to do my hair, her daughter took it and started coming out her ponytail (twice). The comb fell so many times and they didn’t once wash it off. (I didn’t see Anything in there to clean combs such as barbercide) . Then the daughter helped the owner thread needles and two more people literally came and started braiding my hair to the ends. In total I had 5 PEOPLE ON MY HEAD. And I’m big on energy they never once asked was it okay. I had to deal with the mom snapping at the daughter the whole time because she was passing a little bit of hair or too much hair. Now the braids did come out pretty good BUT my experience was horrible and I will never go there again. I’m so upset. Drove from Bridgeport to deal with that. I’ve been there once before I guess on a slow day and the owner did my hair (smaller than I asked and I showed them a picture that time too). She was okay but she really have to get that shop in order. And the sink was clogged and the bathroom was nasty. Spider Webb’s everywhere too. Have to take pride in your shop and clients....
Read moreI am new to Connecticut so I've been in search for a braiding salon. I wanted micro braids using wet n wavy human hair but this particular salon uses synthetic hair and dips it in water to get the curls. I was disappointed because my micros were not as small as I wanted them and as close together as I usually get them. Also, the salon is not clean and one of the braiders had their baby sitting in a car seat on the floor which I believe is unsanitary being that hair is all over the floor and whatever else is on the floor. I was also very livid when the lady braiding my hair threw up on me then had the nerve to give me the excuse "i'm pregnant"...umm get up and go the bathroom then. I ended up paying $160.00 for these "micros" and they weren't "cleaned up/clipped" to my expectations.. this will be the first and last time I go to this salon. I give them a 2 star for being somewhat polite and doing my hair in 7 hours.. UPDATE I am not degrading my review from 2 stars down to 1 star. It has been 2 TWO weeks since I got my hair braided and my hair looks like I've had these braids for over a month. They are extremely frizzy and 4 braids have fallen out. I will NOT be returning to the braiding salon to have them re-braid the missing braids. I will be taking these braids down and going elsewere to get my hair re-braided this weekend. The hair they use is extremly cheap and does not hold up well. YES I do use a scarf at night to secure the braids and they still turn out frizzy the next day. LADIES, please save your money this shop does not know how to braid well, they need to invest in the hair they use and practice more on...
Read moreI went to get my hair passion twisted. I called the salon and the owner answered. She told me she made my appointment for 12. She told me that they had the hair on hand and the style i wanted would be 180 including hair, i sent a picture to the owner so there was no confusion: I got there at 11:45 and they had all just started braiding other peoples hair. My hair wasn’t started until 3 and then they didn’t even have the hair. So then i had to drive the stylist to TWO different hair stores. Then we finally got back to the salon and then the hair stylist said she needed to eat. Fine she ate and then i started talking to the owner about pricing since she said the hair was included (180). I spent 84 dollars on passion twist hair so i was expecting the price to be at most 120. Nope the owner still said the hair would cost 160.... i still paid bc they were my only option bc i had school the next day but it shouldn’t go unnoticed that they had problems with pricing with 2 other people that day. And i put that on everything. After all of this nonsense the hair fell out LITERALLY the next week. Don’t go to them Late and unprofessional They make up prices as they go along. Owner and hairstylist precious...
