I had a concerning experience at The Lab recently. During a baby shower, one of the guests was threatened with police involvement over an alleged act of vandalism. It appears the issue arose because an artist, who had not been commissioned for their work, decided to erase their painting. Unfortunately, there was no director or owner present to address the situation. The server, a light-skinned young woman with glasses, was extremely rude, which added to the discomfort of the event. Her behavior made the baby shower, just before Father's Day, quite embarrassing. She claimed that "Jakeeva" manages the entire establishment, but the lack of proper oversight and the way the situation was handled was unprofessional. Growing up we always had something to do and a place to go and have fun. I love the renovation that was done to this building and I love the fact that it's being used in the way that it's being used for the community.
