Lakeview Grocery — Local services in New Orleans

In short: I can't stand this place.

In more detail:

The management is terrible. They spend most of their time talking with employees about personal matters, blocking the aisle the whole time. Aloof and surly.

Save for a handful, the employees are awfully rude and unhelpful. Just today, I had the deli clerk snap at me because I couldn't hear her response to my question because her back was towards me, and she was mumbling. If you get a "hello" from a cashier, you are doing well. Might as well forget about customer service checkout. It's like you personally offended them trying to spend money.

The parking, especially during church or school, is impossible. I'm not sure why St. D people are freely allowed to park in the lot and walk across the street.

It's outrageously expensive.

I guess there is 2 things I like: the king cake and hot bar. Otherwise I'll be spending my money...

Conveniently located grocery store with friendly staff, fast service, and a great selection of prepared meals! We come here at least once a week to supplement our usual grocery runs, for special ingredients, or for a beer run. The staff is very kind and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes at the register. The produce selection is limited and there are no bulk items. This grocery store is small so they have all of the items you may need but only one or two brands in one size. I've never done a comparison on prices either. Convenient small to mid size grocery in Lakeview perfect for those of us who don't love the mega groceries and for those who just want to pick up a few things. Well stocked deli, prepared foods and boars head products which are my fav. More than adequate selection of most everything you might need well displayed. It can be a tiny bit crowded in the middle of the isles but not so as to hinder your shopping. Larger than expected wine/alcohol section, so they have their priorities in the right order!! Very friendly staff who seem to be happy and like what they do. That is always refreshing to find. Great little find in the middle of a busy area...
