The tour was a great value, informative, and fun especially for 15 bucks. We often look for something to do in the AC when we spend our summers in nola. It's too hot to spend every day outside so this is a good alternative weekend activity.
While the place was small and physically not much to tour, we were led through the production and bottling area and the entire process was explained to us. I think it was about 30 minutes on tour and maybe another 30 min for the after tour tasting session. They answered all of our questions during the process.
The herbal rum may be my favorite or the cocao one. We purchased two shot bottles and 2 big bottles of rum. Shop local! Give people in your community your hard earned money and not faceless corporations. I will look for their product on store shelves.

We found him insightful from the perspectives of rum making, a distilling and aging process that are still being developed, and the effort to use local farmers as the sugar cane supply. Assume people have little experience with or knowledge of the distillation process. This will open the door to more questions, discussion and engagement. If people have enough expertise to get more technical they can still ask those questions. I would err on the side of avoiding going over people’s heads rather than boring or insulting people with too generalized an approach. But...
