That job shadow they require before they start you is just their way of getting free labor out of you for 4 hours. Me and my younger brother learned that the hard way. We applied when they had open positions posted on indeed and I did the job shadow with the purpose of securing a position there as my younger brother was going to do today. However what they had failed to mention is they never intended to hire for they did not actually have positions opened. And contrary to the law, they do require you to be productive for them during said job shadow, which is highly illegal. A job shadow is meant for observation only, to see how the job is done. If they have you work at all during the job shadow it is constituted as paid labor under Idaho law. And thus they are required to pay you for said job shadow however long it was for. And for those who have already done the job shadow and can prove they did it and were required to put in labor during the job shadow, I would recommend getting an attorney.
