I’ve had an ongoing and deeply frustrating experience with the front desk secretary, Zulle, at Dr. Zevallos’s office. As an advocate for my elderly parents—both patients of Dr. Zevallos—I have stepped in to assist with important matters such as completing handicap forms because my father is a transplant recipient and has many health issues. Unfortunately, each time I’ve tried to help them with this process, Zulle has been dismissive and unhelpful.
When I request to speak with the office manager or physician for assistance, I’m consistently met with the same excuse: “The office manager had an emergency” or “The office manager is sick and unsure if she can return your call.” This has happened on multiple occasions over the span of three years, and no effort is made to offer a follow-up, pass along a message, or even acknowledge the importance of the request. My father's cardiologist used to fill out this form but has stated this should be forwarded to PCP.
This lack of responsiveness and professionalism is disappointing and disheartening—especially when it concerns elderly patients who rely on support from their family members. Filling out a handicap form should not be a source of stress or resistance from the staff. Patients and their families deserve respect, compassion, and access to basic assistance.
I urge the office to re-evaluate its communication practices and ensure that front desk staff are better trained to support—not obstruct—patient care and family advocacy. I also selected Dr. Zevallos to be my parents pcp because he is an affiliate to Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian so obtaining records electronically or via "my chart" shouldn't be an issue but to Zulle it has been. Instead or working against patients learn to work with them to...
Read moreI usually don't leave reviews, but I have had enough frustrating experiences with this clinic that I felt the need to speak up.
I recently called to ask about getting a medical form completed for a job, and the response was extremely unhelpful. I was placed on hold, only to be given the same vague answer that there were no appointments, without actually listening to or addressing my question. I wasn't asking for a full physical, just guidance or referral. This isn't the first time either.
A year ago, I had a similar issue with the job opportunity, I had to turn down because I couldn't get a simple work from completed even though my physical was up-to-date .
Also not to be rude, but there's a clear language barrier when calling the front desk, which makes it already stressful situation even harder to navigate. it would really help if someone fluent in English was handling calls, especially for time sensitive request. It's incredibly frustrating to feel like you're doing your part but the clinic isn't willing to or able to support you. I hope they take this feedback seriously to improve their communicate...
