Catania Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Omg, where do I begin? I've been coming here for years and decided to purchase my mother's cake from this bakery for her 75th birthday. I placed the order by phone days in advance. I asked for it to be written as "I love Lucy at 75". I then called back minutes later realizing I can buy the "7" and "5" candles, and asked for it to be changed to "I love Lucy" in red. I also asked that it was a heart instead of the word "love", since it was a small, 7" cake. In the end, it should've been red letters that said, "I ❤️ Lucy". THAT'S IT!!! Well... Not only was the cake not ready when I arrived at the time I said I'd be there, it was written in pink at last minute and looked so bad, a child could've done better. I was surprised that Paul, the owner, was at this young lady's side in the kitchen at back, saw that it looked this way, and decided it was perfectly fine to be given to me looking like this. I added the photo so you can see just how bad it looks. I opened the box to present the cake to my mother nearly in tears. Not a lot of people can say their mother is 75 years old and still alive. It's not everyday you have a birthday. It's the principle. This experience was crappie and so uncalled for. I've been coming here for years and today's experience and lack of customer service is making me consider the idea of never coming here again. I don't think I'll ever...

I was at this location today , And one of the cashiers was very rude when she was taking my order , she refused to take my order , she ask me to go to the back , in the line there was 2 customers that they were white , I ask her who is going to take my order , you ask me to go to the back , She was very rude screaming 😱, at me , she say that the other other person was doing my order , I say but you ask me to go to the back , this happend between 11, am to 11:20 am , the way I was treated make leave my food , which I love the food from this place , but I refuse to get treated with hate , no human beings needs to get treated bad at no places , where my money counts , it's the business that benefits from it's customers , I requested to speak to the boss , but she was screaming saying so many bad words , I decided to leave and I refuse to pay for my food , I will take my business else where , i hope she gets discipline...

Love the cheese cake best in the city, but the customer service here is horrendous I ordered a red velvet cake for my nephew's birthday I pre-ordered it and paid for and apparently the red Velvet fairy doesn't work on Sundays which they did not tell me so I'm calling hey I'm on my way to pick up the cake is it ready apparently now they decide to tell me that they're not serving that flavor today I'm like are you kidding me I already paid for this cake she's like oh there's other flavors if I wanted another flavor I would have ordered a different flavor so now I'm here scrambling to buy a different cake for my nephew in a different bakery because they decided that they didn't feel like making red velvet today so basically they just ruin my morning and ruin my nephew's birthday so thank you for that they lost the customer forever and I will be telling everybody in my family not to purchase from...
