I made an appointment for my daughter with Dr. Ayyad last week. I work at SIUH and he was highly recommended to me. We went to the appointment on time. I filled out the paperwork and proceeded to have a seat. When we arrived, there were a few people there but nothing terrible. Our appointment was at 4pm. I understand some doctor's offices will have a reasonable wait time and am prepared for that. A reasonable wait time for me is between 20-30 minutes. But here we waited and waited and waited. Finally after everyone that was there when I arrived was called in, I figured great, we are next. At that point it was 5:15. I figure ok, we've waited this long and he came so highly recommended. Well to my surprise the next patient that was called in was not my daughter. I then proceeded to go up to the window which is always kept closed. I opened it and asked the receptionist how much longer before we were called in. She said probably about another 45 minutes. Are you kidding me?! That you would be 6:15 if we were lucky. I said my appointment was 4pm. I asked why the guy that came after me was just called in when we were clearly here before he was. She said well his appointment was earlier. I asked what time his appointment was, she said 4pm. I said no, our appointment was at 4pm and we were here on time, he wasn't. The receptionist had no idea what to say. I was not rude to her at all. I was not yelling or anything. The office manager who is rude said, the doctor will spend time with you too. OK, that has nothing to do with your office not scheduling appointments appropriately. I asked for my copay back and told them I was leaving. I had to take time off from work for that appointment.
As an office manager in a busy surgical practice, I understand delays and emergencies. But the office manager, who is extremely rude, is the person that has to control the scheduling and instruct the staff how to properly schedule appointments. You cannot schedule everyone's appointment at the same time and expect people to sit there and wait. The patient's time is just as valuable and important as the doctor's time. I'm sure if I showed up over 2 hours late, they wouldn't appreciate it. He may be a great doctor but his office staff is not great. The receptionist was okay but the manager was just too rude for me. I do not want to go to a doctor's office where I'm just expected to sit there hours and hours. I should have known this wasn't going to go well when I was told by the staff that I had to call my insurance to see if he accepts it. The staff doesn't know what insurance the doctor participates in?? Very odd, even the representative at my insurance company said something about that. Trust me, I have a very...
Read moreThe front receptionist with dark hair and glasses is incredibly rude. Honestly I’m usually a very calm, reserved person but she is one incredibly unhappy women who takes it out on Dr. Ayyad’s patients. I’ve been having intense stomach pains and it took 3 phone calls to finally set an appointment. The first time I called on a Friday and asked for a day they were closed and the receptionist immediately had an attitude and hung up the phone. I called back Monday trying to set up an emergency appointment after the receptionist gave me such a hard time. She made me call my insurance to make sure they’re in network as I did. I came in for my appointment and she made me wait an hour and half, while she was contacting my insurance, even though I called the morning before giving her all my insurance info. Her excuse was there are too many patients and she isn’t going to put priority over one. Okay but I did my part, why couldn’t she do hers? I was given such a hard time and had enough. I asked for my copayment back and left. I’ve seen the doctor numerous times and he’s a great doctor, but seriously needs to reconsider some of the staff. Incredibly unprofessional and really...
Read moreThis one star is for the office staff. That one skinny dark haired lady with the glasses is one of the rudest receptionists I've ever come across. The doctor is ok but I bring my grandmother here frequently and keep in mind i ALWAYS arrive 15-45 min early. Today the appointment was at 12:15 and we got here at 11:30. First she says "she doesn't have an appointment today" so obviously you're not doing your job because YOU were the one who made the appointment just LAST WEEK smh.. Its 12:30 and we're still waiting on the doctor. The doctors office was empty when we walked in there are now people standing because there's no seats. I believe she makes same time appointments for various people which makes absolutely no sense to me. Last week we came 15min early and weren't called for about an hour and a half and when i asked the lady about it she was extremely rude and surprisingly i was calm as a breeze because i could've have easily snapped back and made everyone uncomfortable real quick but i just smiled and said no worries I'll wait.. I don't understand why we're here early and always get called an hour after our set appointment....
