The mom 'n pop couple who run one of the perennial booth selling egg, honey, meat, etc are an adorable couple. If you buy eggs from them, you can return the carton to them.
The pickle guy is pretty cool and fun, and when you buy his pickle, the container lid could barely close!
There are several booths from pure pastry, a mix, to pure bread. The bread booth has a nice selection that I go to for some European style bread. They got croissants too, and the almond one is heaven...
There are several fruits n veggie booth too. The new guy is a quiet guy with a big smile that speaks for him. He's got a good variety, and the only guy with potato for my salad. The regular, Owen, is one cool dude who really loves his farm and is the farmer of his farm himself. Talk to him for stories and then buy his veggies so he doesn't have to eat them all by himself. If neither of those guys have what you need, the big booth will cover you.
The coffee booth David's friendly and always ready for a laugh. On hot days like this, they and the ice pop booth offer cold brew and fresh juice ice pop respectively.
There are more booths I haven't visited, since I've only been to half, but there are clothing recycling booth, olive oil and vinegar, pastry, coffee, produce, meat, ice, pickle, coffee, jam, as the constant, and seasonally there has been burger grills, yoga, music, nuts n snacks, grilled corn, etc. depending on the year...
Read moreI have to admit that the day I went, it was for 1 item and it was Pouring rain, so I didn't see it in all its glory. There is a nice selection of items, both food and nonfood. (I especially love the Arlotta Balsamic Vinegar.) The Down to Earth Market is in Cunningham park every Sunday in the summer and is easily seen from the north entrance, near the Union Tpk and Francis Lewis corner. The market is in the parking lot. There is lots of parking, all free. I didn't notice any marked handicap spots but I'm sure they are there. There are no doors to deal with, obviously, so the entrance is handicap accessible. Some booths are covered, some are not so take that into consideration when you come. Since this is a park, bringing children is a good idea IF there is a responsible person to watch them while you shop. The prices are a little above usual, but less than the "organic stores" and the stuff is great. The only other thing I can add is "see you there"...
Read moreThis is a wonderful farmers market with awesome vendors!! My favorite vendors are Central Valley Farms, with wonderful fruits, vegetables, milk, butter, eggs, flowers.... I just love them. My second is Honeydrippers Honey. They have fresh, delicious honey as well as soaps, balms, tinctures, etc. Super nice and friendly owner. Next is the pickle guy!! The absolute best selections of pickles, pickled veggies, stuffed olives, marinated mushrooms, salsas, bloody mary mixes... OMG!!!! There are so many great vendors here!
