Kin’d — Restaurant in New York

This was actually my 2nd time coming here and again they made me very happy. The 1st time I came over a month ago was when pandemic was going down and I was looking for a location with outside dining. I called and they indicated they had outside tables. Got there about 6pm and it was not too crowded but the pickup orders were quite plenty. There is plenty of parking for all the food delivery cars to stop and pickup pretty quickly too.

This time I called them on a Saturday around 720pm and they were taking reservations. They gave me an 830pm res and I quickly jumped on it. I arrived about 10 mins early and the place was packed!! I was able to actually sit down just 10 mins after the reservation which was not bad considering the table was taking their time to leave. The thin guy waiter with the black kin'd t shirt whom I checked in 1st made sure to check in on us every couple of mins for the table. The temperature was getting much cooler droppingninto mid 60s. Luckily I had a jacket in my car and was able to put in on over my short-sleeved shirt. Needed something to warm us up and we ordered a hot sake!! The sake came out extra hot and we were quite happy. Ordered the mango salad which is soo good. They have additions to their menu with soft shell crabs and we tried one of the dishes. The crab was warm on top of a salad with avocados and tomatoes included. Not bad at all. We shared a chicken basil dish which is always good because we were getting full since we do not eat alot. I braved the snow to get here, and wow, the interior feels like fine dining. It’s super cozy with a festive Christmas vibe, but they also have lunch specials! And they even serve a salad with the main dish 🥗.

🍹 OMG, you have to try the Coconut Mango drink! The coconut milk is so rich, and the mango flavor is amazing. It’s definitely one of my top drinks now!!! The other drink we got was also great.

Now, the dishes I tried for the first time, and I was not disappointed:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pad Thai – This is a must-try if you want to taste authentic Thai food. I didn’t ask for it spicy, and the sauce on the noodles was just perfect. It’s not too thick or sticky, which is always a worry with Pad Thai.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Roast Duck Pineapple Fried Rice – I’ve had pineapple fried rice all through college, and this one is super authentic. The pineapple’s freshness balances perfectly with the savory roast duck, making the dish both refreshing and satisfying.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grilled Chicken Wings – These wings were on point! They were super juicy, no dry or rubbery texture. The outside was crispy while the inside stayed tender. Perfect as a little appetizer to fill you up before the main.

This jewel is infact a precious gem I stumbled on when I was in Queens for the weekend. First the location: This is pretty close to St John's University, in the famed Fresh Meadows just south of Cunningham park on 193rd and Union Turnpike. This area is predominantly a non-commercial neighborhood but has a certain appeal to those looking to raise a family and still retain a certain cool factor w.r.t eateries. Ambiance: Very humble decor but quite inviting. Dinning area is split into two parts; one part dedicated to large groupings, huge parties, and a second area for more modest seating for two, three or four. Nothing to write home about, though it may not super trendy, it's still quite inviting. Food: Omg i ordered the ginger salmon with jasmin rice. Portion size was spot on. The taste was simply exquisite. The mix of flavors and ingredients drove me deeper into the dish. Next thing I knew I was cleaning the dish. Flavors we're not over powering it was just spot on. Over all I can't speak enough about how good this place is even down to the service. While it did take a while for me to get my food, that was only because they pretty much cook the food fresh.
